No It seems to be dry solder joints on the Invertor / powerboard.

Have a dell E152FPb flat screen monitor which doesnt stays black even when on light is green. have taken back off but no obvious bulging etc. what can i try to get some life back imto it please

The backlight controler board is faulty. You can try replacing any capacitors in this board even if they look OK. If this does not work then you need to replace the inverter board with a universal inverter board - you will need to work out the wiring details though.

Dell E152FPB LCD no light

If you are going to DIY and have proper tools and know safety precaution then please read on:
Most common failures in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply (they should be replaced in a set), blown fuses; poor solder joints, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). You will need to open it up and inspect the inside, see example of failed DELL monitors to get some ideas what to look for: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums
Post back what you see inside so we can guide you further and it will help out other people in the future also.

The complaint for this DELL E152Fpb LCD Monitor was when switched on has power (LED lit) but no display ti goes yellow on the power led but it brings no display on the screen.

It is standby mode, no signal, It is possible that your computer is not POSTing.
Connect your screen to another computer/laptop, just to make sure, which component is not working. Either the Screen or the Computer.
Make sure the DVI/VGA cable is firmly connected as well as RAM modules and Graphics Card.
Please take the time to rate my expertise.

The monitor main menu pops up and off constantly without even touching the computer. So much so that Ive almost broken it in frustration, an help would be grateful!

alexanderhic, When the ac to dc power supply inside lcd monitors develop "electronic noise" on the dc rails that power up the vga to lcd digital LCD interface board it can cause very "squirrelie" things to appear on the screen of your lcd panel. You will need to visit YOUTUBE to find DIY video clips to know how to disassemble unit to do inspection for BAD SWOLLEN filter capacitors that may have failed and learn how to replace them with new ones. See how many "hits" you get if you query the web for "swollen capacitors" or "bulging capacitors" or "failed electrolytic filter capacitors" or "CapXon capacitors" If this was of some help pllease leave additional comment or testimonial and rate this response on fixya. 12fixlouie

If the pre-installed operating system is not windows xp and you just upgraded/downgraded to XP, you have to download the drivers for your audio device. You can download the drivers at: http://consumersupport.lenovo.com/driversdownloads/drivers.html
