This Should fix it! Thank you for contacting SanDisk Technical Support. We should be able to fix your player. Disconnect the player from the computer if it is connected. Please copy and paste the following link into your web browser address bar, and then click Go or hit your Enter key. When prompted, choose the option to Save the file to your Desktop. http://www.sandisk.com/Assets/File/Downloads/firmware/e200fw01.00.12.exe Once you have downloaded the file, please follow these instructions. 1) Double click on My Computer so that you can see it on your screen. 2) Turn the player off. 3) On the top of the player is a Hold switch, move it to the right (toward the headphone jack) so you see Orange. 4) On the left hand side of the player is a Record button, press and hold it while connecting the player to the computer. Continue holding the Record button until you see a new icon under My Computer called 16MB FORMAT. Once you see that icon you may release the Record button. 5) Double click the file you downloaded earlier and run it. Follow all of the on-screen instructions, and when you get to the prompt where it asks you whether you would like to Format it, choose Yes. Once it is done, click Finish. 6) Disconnect the player and look at the screen. Several things will be displayed, and when you see Key Lock, System Shutdown, move the Hold switch on the top back to the left. 7) Turn the player on and watch the screen. If you see a Refresh Database Fail error, you will need to follow steps 1-7 again until you do not get the error. If it does not work the first time, it could take up to 3 times for it to work. It should be fine Welcome!!!

My Sansa m240 is saying there is no music on it when i plug it in the computer the music is really still there...what do i do?

Look for changing the USB mode of the device to MSC or MTP
Go to USB Mode settings. if you have a Sansa View - From the Main Menu, select More -> Settings/Options -> System Settings -> USB Mode.
if you have a Sansa Fuze - From the Main Menu, select Settings > System Settings > USB Mode.
if you have a Sansa Clip, e200v1 series, e200v2 series and e200R - From the Main Menu, select Settings > USB Mode.
Select Auto Detect, MTP or MSC. e200R - PlayforSure is MTP and Rhapsody is MSC
NOTE: The USB mode is not selectable for Sansa View (FW 1.03.XX and below), Sansa e200v2 (FW 03.01.14 and below), and Sansa Clip (FW 1.01.11 and below). The USB Mode setting can be enabled on these players using a firmware update.

My sansa clip will play music but the screen will not light up;

Hello,

There's a timer for the display backlight that can be set and used for
saving power. When leaving the player untouched for a certain time, the backlight switches off. Touching any button will turn on the backlight, restarting the timer.

To set the backlight timer on the Sansa Clip,
execute the following steps:
1. Press Menu button to return to the Main Menu.
2. Move to Settings and select it.
3. Select Display.
4. Select Backlight.
5. Press |<< or >>| button to select desired backlight timer.

My sandisk Keeps restarting

These are the most common methods for recovering Sandisk's Sansa Mp3 Players. I have been almost universally successful in recovering Sansa players using one or a combination of these methods. These methods do not work if you are having synchronization or music format issues - they are for recovering a player that will not power up, freezes, flashes, is not recognized by the computer, and a host of other issues.

Reset the Sansa Player first. On most models, restart is done by holding the power button in for 15 seconds or longer. Check your specific manual to be sure. The manuals are available from the Sansa website if they have been misplaced.
Download the Sansa Recovery Tool from the Sansa website.
Format - Erases Everything: Connect your Sansa player to the computer and open Windows Media Player. Click on the Sync tab. Pull down the drop down menu underneath the Sync tab by moving your cursor over the Sync tab and left clicking on the little black arrow underneath the Sync tab. Highlight "Sansa 1GB" (wording may vary slightly), and then select "Format." - this should erase everything.
Firmware Upgrade- Erases Everything: Get the latest firmware upgrade from Sansa - it updates the firmware and erases every song in the player all at once. Note: this method doesn't work if already have the latest firmware. Go to this website and click "Firmware Updater" to find out: http://www.sandisk.com/DriverDownload/driverList.asp
If these fail, then:
Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard.
If you get the problem where MTP Device keeps popping up continuously, uninstall the “MTP Device” by going to Start à Control Panel àSystem à Hardware à Device Manager (you computer may vary slightly, depending on Windows Version).
You may have to restart your computer after each of these methods to get them to work properly. Disconnect your Sansa player BEFORE shutting down your computer.

SANSA E200 NOT SHOWING THE MENU SCREEN

Try to format the SANSA E200.

You can do this by simply holding down the Power/Menu button for about 15 seconds. After the reset, any changes you have made to the e200 during its last use will be lost.

PLEASE RESET USING THE RESET PIN PRESENT IN THE SIDE.
AND FORMAT THE PLAYER . if this dosen't work your player is faulty

Up date time

Sounds virus-related. Do this first:
To format the player directly, follow these steps:
1. Press the Home button to return to the Main Menu.
2. Select Settings from the Main Menu.
3. Select System Settings.
4. Scroll down to Format and select it.
5. Select Yes to start formatting.

If that fails:
