This error code is saying that a mechanism inside the machine is jammed. In my case I opened the lid and slid the printer cartridges over to the left manually. Where the cartridges usually come to rest, there is a white platform with two "squeegy" type things that is connected to a spring. This platform gets all gummed up with ink and gets stuck in the forward position instead of going back to it's typical resting place. Get a flashlight to see the platform, be prepared to get ink on your hands and fingers and reach in there and wipe down the area that the white platform is in, to remove some of the excess ink. Then *gently* slide the white platform forward and backwards to free it (it may have been freed when you wiped away the gummy ink). Also, take all the ink cartridges out and flip up the grey arm on the ink holder and pull out the base that the ink usually rests in. Turn it over and you will see where the ink normally comes out and you will see that it will be all gummed up with old ink; with a slightly damp cloth clean that area up (the ink is water soluable). Put everything back and you should be back in business. Good luck!

Resetting the Printer By resetting the printer's power, the print buffer is cleared and certain sensors are reset. If there is invalid data in the buffer, or sensors are stuck in a particular mode; errors may occur. Follow these steps to reset the printer:

  1. Turn the printer off with the Power button (if available).

  2. Disconnect the data cable from the printer (not applicable to WiFi, Bluetooth or Infrared) .

  3. Unplug the printer's power cord for approximately 10 minutes, and then plug it back in. If troubleshooting a communication issue, reconnect the data cable (not applicable to WiFi, Bluetooth or Infrared).

  4. Turn the printer back on.
Note: If resetting the printer does not work, please attempt any other solutions that appeared in your search results. If this is a hardware error on the printer, the printer may need to be repaired.

I hope it helps!!!

6A00 is a problem with the sheet feed unit. I would get in touch with Canon, to hopefully get it repaired. Not much you can do yourself sadly.

Canon PIXMA MP530 All-In-One InkJet Printer Canon mp530 error 6a00

The 6A00 is a Canon generic code for paper path jam. Some where in the paper path a sensor is activated indicating paper jam so the printer will give off a 6A00 code.
Clear a purge unit if its jammed with paper, paper clips, push pins, screws, cookie crisp, flower bud pods or the like

Canon pixma all in one mp500 error code 6A00

6A00 is a problem with the sheet feed unit.
Manually move the print head left and right, and turn the printer on/off. I would also inspect the rollers for ANY debris... it can often be fixed by using "canned air" and blowing the interior out completely.

Error code 6A00

Hi
Error 6A00
The 6A00 is a Canon generic code for paper path jam.

Solution 1:
Move the printhead carriage back and forth a few times.

Solution 2:
Check the purge unit: Moving the print head assembly will not clear a purge unit if its jammed with paper, paper clips, push pins, screws, cookie crisp, flower bud pods or the like.

Solution 3:
Press the ink pads down in the purge unit.

6A00 is the error when the purge assembly is broken or jammed. You need a shop to install a new one since the entire print engine has to come out to replace it.

Canon pixma mp800 error code 6A00

6A00 means you need a new purge assembly. That's the unit that cleans the printhead. Part number is QM2-3032-000 around $30.00 but a shop should install it.
