You have a drain in the back of the freezer and a drain on the back of the refrigerator. Check them both to see if the freezer drain is frozen or the refrigerator drain is clogged. Thaw out with a hair dryer and hot water if it is the freezer drain.

Water is leaking into the fridge from the freezer. It is a top freezer with ice maker

It's likely due to a problem in the defrost drain or a leak in the ice maker. You may be able to solve such problems quite quickly, possibly in just a few steps. Have the owner's manual available to help you find

Some models have a selector switch to allow for a manual defrost cycle. If your freezer has this setting (check your owner's manual), ensure that the switch wasn't set to defrost accidentally. If the freezer was in a defrost cycle, check it in about an hour to ensure it is working.

When the defrost system kicks in, frost buildup on the evaporator coils melts and water is collected in a trough beneath it-more than usual. It is funneled through a defrost drain tube or channel down the back of your refrigerator and collected in a drain pan, where it is then left to evaporate.

Often, the defrost cycle turns off before the water can finish draining, and the refrigerator continues to cool. Ice buildup then forms along the system, and eventually water collects and puddles in the bottom of the refrigerator as melted ice continues to drip from the evaporator coils.

If there is ice buildup, allow the unit to thaw:
1. Remove food from the entire unit, storing it in coolers packed with ice, and remove the freezer shelves. Unplug the unit.
2. Using a screwdriver, remove the panel inside the freezer at the back to access the evaporator coils and trough.
3. Leave open the doors and allow the ice in the trough and along the defrost drain system to thaw by itself. This should take several hours. Note: Keep plenty of towels around and be prepared for the drain pan to fill quickly.
4. When thawing is complete, replace the panel and restore power to the unit. When it is cooling again, replace the food.

The water on the door keeps freezing up, model number GSS25JFPH WW Any recalls ? Or class action law siutes ?

You won't likely see a recall unless the problem involves a safety or significant property damage issue, like fire, electrical shock, or flood hazard. Have not heard of any pending litigation on this matter. You could try this:

Remove lower grill and disconnect the water line going through the freezer door hinge. Usually it is a push lock fitting, which requires you to push the ring2_bing.gif on the end of the fitting toward the center of the fitting while pulling (not hard) on the plastic tube. Now place a pan under the separated plastic hose and try the water dispenser. If water comes out, your problem is a frozen water line in the freezer door. A warmer freezer temp may help, or you can order and install a WR49X10173 water tube heater2_bing.gif. (the heater may take 24 hours to thaw the line, but I have used it successfully several times. Cost about $50) If no water comes out the separated tube when you try to dispense water, reconnect the tube at the hinge by pushing the plastic line back into the fitting. Now, at the back of the refrig., disconnect the water line going from the water valve to the fresh foods compartment. Try to dispense water. No water at valve outlet = bad valve. Water dispensed from valve now = frozen water filter or water line at back bottom of fresh foods compartment. (make sure you disconnect the right tube. If in doubt, disconnect them both, just get them back correctly so your icemaker continues to work) Send me additional comments if needed. Don't rate before you try all the steps.

Note: I do know an individual who saved a class action payment check he received when he opted in for a settlement (a different manufacturer was involved) which ended up being a whopping 9 cents! Of course the lawyers made big bucks.

Frigidaire upright freezer Model # FFU14FC4AW0 frost free has water that accumulates under it. It's like it is leaking water on the floor. Not alot, but it has to wiped up and is leaving water stains on...

Normal 0 MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 st1\:*{behavior:url(#ieooui) } /* Style Definitions */ table.MsoNormalTable {mso-style-name:"Table Normal"; mso-tstyle-rowband-size:0; mso-tstyle-colband-size:0; mso-style-noshow:yes; mso-style-parent:""; mso-padding-alt:0in 5.4pt 0in 5.4pt; mso-para-margin:0in; mso-para-margin-bottom:.0001pt; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:10.0pt; font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-fareast-font-family:"Times New Roman";} Your evaporator coils frost up in normal use and every eight hours or so the entire unit shuts down and the defrost heater comes on to melt the frost. This cycle last about 20 minutes. The melted frost drips into a drain pan and through a drain tube to the drain tray under the freezer/refrigerator where it's evaporated by the condenser fan.

Your drain tube may be stopped up with ice at the upper end because it drains too slow because it's stopped up at the lower end in the evaporator pan under the unit at the floor. It can get dust and mold in it. Once you get the ice out at the top a little pressure with a turkey baster will usually clear it out. Flushing it out with hot water and clorox may help.
Make sure it drains quick enough to prevent refreezing. . The drain should be located below the evaporator coils on the lower back of the freezer.

Freezer has stopped freezing items regardless of what temp you select, and lower fridge gets cold only enough for drinks. Motor continually runs as though it is trying to reach the required temperature...

can be a thermostat issue, or your condenser in the back of the freezer may be plugged up with ice. Unplug the fridge and take the back freezer wall off, be careful not to pull on the wires connected. It may be full of ice. Don't chip at the ice as you may hit a refrigerant line and cause a leak. You can speed up the process with a hair dryer, being careful not to melt the plastic. If this is frozen, you may need a new defrost heater.

My performa refrigerator,on top,of unit is freezing all the food .where should the dial be set?

The fridge section shouldn't ever freeze anything.
The fridge gets its cold air from the freezer through a vent(damper) between the freezer and fridge. The fan in the freezer blows air through it. There is a flap you adjust with the fridge temp. control. Make sure it's opening and closing when you adjust the fridge temp ..
