Question about Toshiba Satellite A135-S4527 Notebook
Hi all, I was wondering how you would transfer sound from a labtop to an external monitor during powerpoint presentations. I use a standard 15 way to 15 way d-type connector to connector from lallbtop to plasma screen. the images display correctly but I cannot get sound, any ideas
Some monitors have speakers built-in, some don't. The sound never travels through the 15pin d-type VGA connector. If the monitor has sound, there will be a small 1/8 inch stereo jack in the back or bottom of the monitor. Most all laptops have a headphone output jack (again 1/8 inch stereo) which is perfect for patching to external amplified speakers or to a monitor with speakers built-in. This patch cable can be purchased at Radio Shack, Best Buy, etc etc.
