Hi, Sometimes when you are removing some things they take small parts with them that they should not. Some Uninstall programs are not perfect.

You must re install your cd software.
Try installing it ON TOP of itself. Sometimes a screen will pop up and ask if you want to 1)uninstall 2) fix or 3) install
Try FIX first.
Try INSTALL second (reboot clean after each attempt)

One of these should work but if not, uninstall all the cd software, reboot and then install it CLEAN.

Thank you and Good luck.*s*

I caint download the driver for the ethernet on t3958

Here is where to find the drivers... http://www.emachines.com/support/drivers.html
You need to follow the prompts in the blue boxes, to ID your pc model, then under the boxes showing the model, you need to choose your operating system from the drop down pick list.

Then it will show you all the drivers available for your model.

I have a emachine t3958 it will not turn on

Your power supply has gone out. This could have been caused by a surege, dust or bad power outlet.

You can purchase a replacement off eBay for under $25.00.

Check the power cable connections and make sure they are tight. If they are ok then i would say you have a bad power supply.

Upgrade mother board t3958

to upgrade a motherboard... you would need to replace it with another one, on a motherboard you can upgrade memory, cpu, video card, hard drive, parts that are connected to it, but you don't really upgrade the motherboard itself..

Here's the Support Link for your desktop. Look under User Guides, Hardware Reference. Also look on the motherboard for markings such as PW or PS and an indicator to where the wire goes.

Emachines T3958 Problem

Often times if a PC hangs up at the same place each time, it points to a bad memory stick. If you have 2 sticks of memory, pull one out at a time and check to see if it will boot, if it still hangs up, try a different memory slot, if that doesn't do it, repeat the same steps with the other stick of memory.

First check to see if a drive died. Unplug all the drive Floppy, hard and dvd or burns. I have come across many time that a drive will die and keep motherboard from booting. Being that you say you get a green light on the motherboard shows that the power suppy is providing some power. But for some reason the internal self test is faulting the power suppy. I have not come cross any bad power supplies killing a motherboard. But I have come across power supplies killing drives. The power switch is a normal open switch so the only time you be able test continuity on it is if you hold the switch in, or the closed position.
