The difference between the A & B settings on my uniross charger

Do you know which model of charger it is? Uniross do several different models and not all of them have the same buttons. I think that switch is a time control button. A is a 6 hour charge and B is a 9 hour charge. *Note* This can depend on the model you have so The model details are usually on the back or underside of the charger. Please comment them below and I'll see if I can help you more.

Thereer is an 18V charger for another Challenger Extreme drill but I do not know about its use with your designated drill. I notice in the documentation 2 x 1.2 Ah Ni-Cd battery back
-1 x 3-5h charger

Here is a smart charger which is 3-5h:

It shuts off when the batteries are charged.

I have a UniRoss X-Press 300 charger which takes 4 Nicad AA Batteries. I want to be able to charge sealed Battery Pack of 4.8 V. How can I do it with this charger?

You can't as the charger has bad cell detection so the charger most likely has individual circuits for each cell so wont work as a charger for 4 cells in series (such as your 4.8V pack for instance). You need to obtain a charger suitable for 4.8V NiCd battery packs. Assuming your battery pack is for a specific device there would be a dedicated charger available for it Alterntively there are a number of multi-voltage chargers available that will do the job. I don't know what country you are in or what capacity (mAh) the battery pack is so I'm going to assume it's less than 1000mAh or not much more. A globally available charger that will most likely suit is the Ansmann ACS110 I've linked a supplier in Australia but they are also available in most other countries. The only issue you have if you get one is how to connect to your battery pack. Assuming the included plugs may not be suitable then alligator leads & other output connectors that maybe suitable are generally available from places like Jaycar, Radio Shack etc.

What type of battery is the best and recommended for Casio QV-R40

The Camera would work with 4 AA batteries of almost any type. However a high capacity rechargeable battery would be more economical in the long run and you need a charger too. NiMh batteries with capacities of between 1200mah and 2900mah would be fine. The Hybrio type comes ready-charged and retains its charge best on the shelf. Therefore I would recommend e.g.
