Question about Compaq Armada M700 Notebook
Sounds like a broken wire in the power supply lead that finally can't be juggled any more; Buy a new one, or more cheaply, cut off the connector to the laptop before the break (you'll need to test continuity with a multimeter that a friend will lend you) then cut out the length with the break, and re-join by soldering or with proper, safe connectors and insulate safely afterwards. DON'T DO IT YOURSELF IF YOU'RE NOT SURE YOU CAN DO IT SAFELY.
