Re: two hard drives and music
I might have this wrong but i have never heard of "Dual hard drives" certainly not in a laptop. Have you just updated to vista with this new laptop? if so then i know where your confusion comes from.Vista in all its magical wisdom has decided to hide half of the hard drive and store things for periods of time just incase you ruin the rest of it.In short it has a massive bank for things like system restore and your favourite pictures. You cannot partition drive c. in effect they have partitioned it already and if you gain access to the other half and re-configure it and it goes badly wrong, windows will accept no responsibillity for you ignoring the countless "are you sure you want to........" & "Allow this & Permit that"

If your old harddrive is operational the best way to get your new drive loaded is to get a cloning program clone your new drive all operating system files will be transferred to new drive, install it and you should have everything old drive had
More RAM will not help because your RAM is temporary memory. You can uninstall the software you dont use or backup your documents/pictures/music to an external source and delete them from your hard drive. Another option is to use the Disk Cleanup utility to rid your system of temporary files that are taking up space or get an external hard drive to backup your files to.
The speed at which data is transferred via USB 2.0 all comes
down to what the read/write speed of the device you are sending the data to/from
USB 2.0 sends data at 480mbps but you will need a storage
device that can read/write at 480mbps to get that speed.
If your device can only read/write at lets say 200mbps than
that’s the transfer speed that will be used.
The read/write speed of memory sticks and external hard
drives very a lot and this is what will be causing your speed differences.
the data part of the drive is just a back up and it is not a 2nd drive the hd have been split in to 2 areas on one drive and moving your stuff there is not a very good idea you can if you like to copy file and paste it into the data area
Its not two hardrives, its duo processor, and two cache chips
check the size of data and acer drives (right click and properties, check size) If they are large should be able to store copy of music
go into the limewire download folder, should be in my computer -> c: -> program files -> Limewire -> shared folder - copy files (edit select all, edit copy or ctrl + left clikc to individually select) then paste to new directory or folder (right click empty sapce of folder & left click paste
same for Itunes - locate where files are saving to then just copy paste from one location to another
should effect the programs from working, unless You delete files
