Question about Electrolux AWF 1435 Front Load Washer

1 Answer

Electrolux front load washer leaks from soap drawer

My brand new Electrolux front load washing machine retains and leaks water from the soap dispensing drawer. It also holds water in the drum. The repairman came out and looked at it but could find nothing wrong and said that it will leak from time to time if I don't take the drawer out and clean it on occasion. It leaks EVERY time I use it. I paid a lot of money for this washer and I don't think I should have to settle for a leaky anything!

This is a common problem with front loaders. Probably poor design.

SOURCE: my front load Electrolux washer asks me "clean

You do not need to clean a drain pump. After you have washes so many loads of clothes, soap scum builds up in your tub and will shorten the life of your product. You just need to run it thru the "clean" cycle. You can use 1/2 cup of bleach and NO detergent or you can by a tub cleaner from most grocery stores or Walmart and use that. It'll just remove any soap scum and mineral build-up off your tub. It should be done each time you washer tells you to do it. Hope this helps. :)

Just took my brand new Electrolux front load washer out of the box. Laid it on its back momentarily and noticed some water. Is this normal for a new machine to have this?

Good Afternoon Dodgerfan66, thank you for your post!

I understand that you received a new Electrolux washer and there was water inside of it. It is normal to have some water inside of your washer. Most manufacturers' test product prior to shipment and unfortunately it is difficult to drain every drop of water. I hope this information is helpful. -Matt

Soap dispensewr will not close

Hi - If dispenser drawer will not stay pushed in it could either be cracked or have a broken latch due to interference between the drawer front and top panel. Contact a professional to move forward accurately and might possibly need to order a service kit (PN: 137146000) if it is an Electrlolux washer.
