SOURCE: GE SpaceMaker Microwave suddenly stops while heating

I had same problem last week. My GE JVM1650 Spacemaker stopped after a few seconds of heating. Owned 16 months, manufactured Jan 2005. It was the magnetron, which was replaced yesterday. The magnetron has a 10-year warranty, but I had to pay $161.00 for labor by a GE technician. The call-out fee was waived at my request. I don't know what that amount would have been, but I can't believe the $161.00 for what was about 1/2 hour labor once diagnosed. Good Luck!

SOURCE: microwave malfunction

I was also getting F3 error code on GE spacemaker xl 1800. After reading prior post about possible faulty keypad, I unplugging and touching each of the keys on the control panel. After touching most of the individual keys, the problem solved itself. Back to having a working micro. Thanks for the help!

SOURCE: My Ge SpaceMaker XL1800 Microwave Oven won't power on any more.

1.Check power outlet for working.
2.If it is than you have broken fuse inside the m/w.
3. To change the fuse you have to disconnect the power to m/w, take the upper grill off, take the screw on top of control panel, lift the control panel up and removed. The 20 Am fuse located behind this panel.

Have a GE Spacemaker (Model # JVM1650SH05). Microwave works for a few minutes then displays "F3" code. How can you tell if the Touchpad or Control Board is bad? When it is working for those few minutes,...

Hi,

F3 on a GE / Hotpoint microwave means you have a shorted membrane keypad.

Part number WB07X10959 this part can run over 100 bucks. If you shop around you could get a good price.

Good Luck

Our GE Spacemaker XL 1800 microwave's controls are locked

The first thing I would suggest is a hard reset. Unplug the unit for a minute or so. Then plug it back in, set the clock and try again.

If that doesn't work, leave it unplugged for about 5 minutes.

GE Sensor Microwave model JES1456wf001 error code F3....how do we fix . Microwave comes on when plugged in and then reads to set clock and then it rings several times and we get an F3 code

Unfortunately, it appears that GE did not make that model to be repaired.

According to the owner's manual, there is a one year warranty.

After that, GE offers no support for it, but they sometimes make exception is people raise heck with Customer Service.

Good luck.

F3 is a shorted key pad. To prove this, unplug the ribbon cable of the key pad from the control board and this symptom should go away when you plug the AC cord back into the wall. BE CAREFUL!!!

Have a ge spacemaker xl1800 - f3 error

I had the same problem. I removed the grill and opened the control panel as I read an answer from "GENE" on APP (Appliance Pros) that this indicated a short in the circuit board (TouchPad). I was going to replace the faulty circuit board but when I opened the control panel there it was......One wire harness had just came unplugged!! I plugged it in, reassembled and the microwave works again!
