Usb connection

When i plug my mp3 player in to the usb port in to my comp. it won't connect. It turns on, says usb conectting then it says idel then it shuts off. It keep repeating this and it will not connect to my comp. can anyone help???

remove the player battery and connect it to ur pc
it should show a charging icon
after it is done it will show a motorola logo
remove the cable put battery and reconnect
it should show a charging icon
