This is almost always caused by a minor spill of some form.
If it's a desktop keyboard, hey, the amount of work involved in cleaning the thing out just isn't worth it.
get a new $5 or $10 keyboard from wal-mart.
If it's a really expensive keyboard, or your dead dad gave it to you and you just can't part with it, or if it's a laptop keyboard, reply to this post and I'll help you out.
Be forewarned though, you're in for a 1-3 hours work depending on what kind of keyboard it is. (if it's a laptop keyboard, give the make/model of the laptop).

Hiii, my laptop started making a random nosie everytime i start typing. it wont let me type anything. any ideas???

ok, guess your keyboard is not working,
try this.....

borrow from a friend..... the keyboard of a PC
connect that to your laptop keyboard/mouse port behind/sides of the laptop, now try typing.....

pls note......
the keyboard connector goes into the port only in a specific angle, align the marker in the port along with the arrow mark in the keyboard connector .....be carefull.... dont force it inside.....else you will kill the keyboard connector pins.....and render the laptop port unusable.....just do it carefully...that's all

all the best.....

Got liquid spill on lap top keyboard, lap top works fine, but some keys do not work, any suggestions!!!

Hi there,

Almost every laptop keyboard ever produced (or so it would seem) is available new as a part on eBay. It's where I buy all mine. SInce you don't mention the model of laptop here, just got to ebay's main page and in the search box type your laptop model followed by the word "keyboard". Most of them there are around $10 while others range up to $25.

Keyboards are usually just about the quickest and easiest part to replace on a laptop.

Best Regards,

Marcus

Keyboard Not Working

It sounds like maybe the keyboard died if that can happen in a laptop. Or maybe a connection came loose inside the unit. Was it dropped or anything like that? Laptops are hard to repair because everything inside is very small and delicate. If it needs a keyboard replacement it won't be cheap. Maybe a driver got turned off somehow. Look in the BIOS and the device manager to check that. Hopefully it is that simple. You could always carry an external keyboard around with you which would kind of defeat the purpose of having a laptop in the first place. I've seen these flexible roll-up keyboards that aren't too big. That might be an option.

My son has an HP G6062 laptop with Vista and he cannot use the keyboard to access Windows.

if you can get into the bios settings using the keyboard but when it get to the windows logon screen the keyboard stops working then it could be driver issue within windows.
Get hold of a usb keyboard, and plug it in to the laptop with the power off, start the pc, if the usb controllers are enabled in the bios you should be able to use the other keyboard until you work out what the problem is with the laptop keyboard

good luck

I have a question-I am thinking about purchasing a wireless keyboard and mouse for my laptop. I know of someone who did this and was not able to use their laptop keyboard after the install. What error...

Hi,
Nothing to worry. It doesn't happen like that. Its because of their laptop keyboard problem. You can work with wireless keyboard and mouse.

Thank you.......

Another keyboard will not work

laptop keyboards also go. Has anything been spilled on it that you know of ?

Try plugging in a USB keyboard and see if the problem goes away. If so, you need to just get a new keyboard for the laptop.

I alreay had to change mine when I spilled VERY little coffee on it.
