SOURCE: I am missing the control key button on the lower

The only thing you can do at this point is to find a broken sony laptop keyboard and take the keys off that and put them on your keyboard or just to get a brand new keyboard cause if certain keys fell off then others may be soon to follow.

Just from a search from Ebay brought up this:

http://cgi.ebay.com/Sony-Keyboard-KEY-VGN-S370-VGN-S380-VGN-S430-VGN-S460_W0QQitemZ270336571206QQcmdZViewItemQQptZPCA_Mice_Trackballs?hash=item3ef150b746&_trksid=p3286.m20.l1116

You can buy just the keys you need and the total cost would be less then the cost of a new keyboard and a new one can cost around $80.00 as according to this website:

http://product.pelltechnology.com/Sony_Vaio_VGN-S460_Keyboard_replacement.asp

At least you have a choice in which way you want to go.

SOURCE: I have an HP G72-259WM

Hi,

Since there is no power button or desktop icon for the webcam, the only way to test and use the webcam is to open a webcam application.

You can use the HP MediaSmart suite for Windows 7 which includes a webcam application. HP MediaSmart Webcam can record videos, take photos, etc.

For more details and step by step instructions to use HP MediaSmart, click this link.

Also, you can set up and use the HP Webcam in messenger programs like Windows Live Messenger, Yahoo Messenger, AOL Messenger, Skype, etc. For set up and usage instructions for messenger programs, click here.

Hope this helps. Thanks for using FixYa.

How to remove the keyboard

Keyboards become worn out over time. Individual keys can become damaged, become less sensitive to key strokes, or disengage from the keyboard. Keyboards can also become corroded from spills. Many keyboards on HP laptops can be replaced. Hewlett-Packard has made hundreds of different laptop models. Each model may require slightly different steps for replacing the keyboard. To locate a replacement keyboard, you can contact HP directly or another online or offline source that sells computer parts.
1.Power off the laptop. Flip the laptop over to access the device's underside.
2.Remove the battery cover and take out the battery.
3.Remove a screw to the left of the memory bay. This screw will be one of two resting in the middle of the underside of the device. You want to remove the right screw, the left screw is attached to the CD/DVD-ROM drive, not the keyboard. (This screw may be red in color.)
4.Flip the laptop back over and raise the laptop screen so you have access to the keyboard area. Insert the tip of a Flathead screwdriver along the bezel and detach it. Carefully pull the bezel up and set it aside. The bezel is connected to the device with a ribbon cable. Do not remove this ribbon cable. (The bezel is the above the laptop and is the cover that houses the power button.) Once the bezel is up, notice the three screws that are beneath it.
5.Unscrew the three screws holding down the keyboard.
6.Lift the keyboard forward toward the mouse area. Be careful, it is still connected to the motherboard by a keyboard cable.
7.Release the cable from the keyboard. Push both ZIF connectors on the side of the cable upwards, toward the laptop screen. Pull the cable from the connector and the keyboard is now released.
8.Insert the keyboard cable of the new keyboard into the ZIF connector. A pair of tweezers may be required to put the cable in place. Lay the keyboard flat down and rescrew in the screws. Replace the bezel cover. Flip the keyboard over and replace the screw on the underside near the memory bay. Insert the battery and battery cover.

I can't find the wireless putton on my HP pavilion Entertainment PC dv8700

It should be located in the "F" keys on the upper portion of the keyboard...once you find the key that looks like the wireless symbol (a tower with parentheses around it) kind of looks like this:
((( i )))
once you find that press the "FN" key at the lower left hard side of your keyboard PLUS the the ((( i ))) key!
That should turn it on, or look on the edge front of the laptop with the lid open to the left of the keyboard, there might be a switch! Hope this helps, if not message me!

Left side of space bar on Dell XPS M1330 difficult to use

I had the exact same problem and contacted Dell support. They sent a tech to swap out just the keyboard. I have a feeling these keyboards are not of the highest quality as I do have some issues with the Ctrl key now. But it's much less annoying than the broken spacebar.

HP Pavilion zv6000 Notebook PC keyboard replaced

Probably the keyboard you got is defective. I have seen buttons working in very bad conditions. When a key doesnt work or several is bad news.

Try to get a replacement. Since you have already reseated this simply check if the flex cable is properly locked, (ear plugs or similar) and not moving.
