Question about Fisher and Paykel GWL11 Top Load Washer

Open Question

Fisher Paykel GWL11 display module wires disconnected and we don't know where they hook into.

Our display module fell when we were fixing something else on our Fisher Paykel GWL11 top load washing machine and became disconnected from the wires. We have not been able to figure out where the wires plug back into. The set of wires are still attached to the Motor Controller Module, but disconnected from the Display module. We have looked it over many times and can't figure out where to reconnect it. Any ideas? Help!

We ended up ordering a new part for close to $200!! But we think we know how it goes on now because we took it apart. The brown board on the back which we thought was a cover was actually a circuit board. (We had no idea). We will know once the new part arrives, but we believe it would just clip on the board with the metal pieces connecting to the metal pieces on the underside of the board. Unfortunately the board is now destroyed and it would have been a simple matter of connecting it to that. I may include pictures later.

The problem was that we just needed to clip the wires onto the brown board on the back - the circuit board and it would have been fixed. Problem solved.

On the gwl11 fisher paykel washer the first and 7th lights are lit and washer won't function

according to the service summary that comes with the washing machine, you have error code #130, a faulty rotor position sensor. first check would be to unplug the machine, remove the screws holding the push button panel, and pop it off. check your wiring harnesses (connectors going to the brown control module). the wires going to the rotor position sensor will contain black, violet, blue, grey, and orange. they connect to the motor control module at the second from the left hook-up. trace those wires to the rotor position sensor. if the wiring is connected, google the part number and purchase a new one. you will have to open the top of the washing machine to get to the sensor. lift your lid, remove two white rubber caps and remove the screws. when you lift it up, ensure that you have replaced the push button console, and glance under to rear right side. you should see the colored wires there attached to your sensor.

GWL11 fisher & paykel with error code 56 (lights 3,4,&5) what does this mean?

This code usually relates to the bowl not disengaging proper to agitate - few things to check - is there enuff water in the machine? - is the clothes packed to one side kinda? - remove the display cover to check if you don't have a kink or the tube for the water level controller hasn't come off - remove the tube & blow into the "bowl end only" attach & try it out - you haven't lost a sock lately or something, it could be stuck between the two bowls? - machine not syphoning? - if none of these work then the RPS is gonna be the most likely problem.

After power failure my GW712 wont work, the lights come on but the start up beeps don't sound and the touch pad don't do anything, also there is a whirring sound coming from the control panel.

Hi - that sounds nasty - its possible the display or the control module has failed as a result of the power failure.

I suggest the motor control module be the 1st unit to be replaced, don't think you can get around this one.
