I would do a master reset... but remember, this clears all data (except provider sw) from your phone... so make sure your address book is saved to your sim and if you have important msgs/pics/vids/audio, email them to yourself because the reset will clear them

New unit used 3 days. Microwave beeps and screen goes to menu, or set time screen. Sometimes changes the date all by itself. Does this in the middle of the night all night long.

I advice you to contact service if it has guarantee. This seems to be a psychological problem about your oven(!). Technical person need to do an electronic research surgery on its board to see if there is any wrong thing.

Advent 5431 date keeps changing back to 2008

IS your TimeZone is Correct?
Right click on your clock, choose Adjust Date/Time.
Click Time Zone Tab. Make sure your Time zone is correctly set.

Boot into the BIOS (setup) screens and check the date and time there. If the date is off by years then that verifies you need a new CMOS battery. Do not confuse the CMOS battery with the large external battery you run the computer with.

Bad back-up battery

If the computer cannot keep the Date and Time after you set it and when you boot up next time the Date and Time has changes or not set then the BIOS battery is flat and needs to be replaced.
When you remove the case the BIOS battery most likely will be a coin size 3volt lithium battery, type CR2032.
After replacing the BIOS battery, boot up the computer and go into the BIOS setting and set the Date & Time etc.

Volume setting keeps changing

This will work on if you are using windows XP. If you are using any other OS please revert back.

Switch ON the PC, boot the PC in 'Safe Mode' by continuously tapping F8 button after you switch On until you get the Safe Mode Option.

Let windows boot in Safe Mode and log in to windows. Go to 'Start'--->Programs--->Accessories--->System Tools--->Click 'System Restore'

A 'System Restore' window will appear.

Here you will have to check "Restore computer to an earlier time' and click Next

Now you will find one Month Calendar window with Dates below, go to the previous month by clicking the '<' sign in the upper left hand corner of the Month Calendar and select any date that you see in Bold.

Note: It is better if you could remember from which date you are facing the issue, try to select a date prior to that date.

The detail of that particular date should show "System Checkpoint" and time on the right hand side box. Select that date.

Now, Click on Next and System Restore will start and windows will take a reboot.

After reboot your problem should be resolved.

If you feel that, my answers have helped you getting solution to your problems then please give a vote.

Thanks.

My laptop has power but wont boot...please help

hi,

Try to boot you computer to safemode, turn off computer then turn it back on then keep on tapping F8, then choose safemode, if youre able to boot to safemode, do system restore going back to the time that its properly working, click start > all programs > accesories> system tools > system restore then pick a date when you think that its properly working..

If its not able to boot to safemode, you will need to reinstall the operating system using the recovery disc that came with the computer.

Hope this will help... Please rate...

I suspect the on-board battery because I did some minor maintenance and when I re-booted the computer the time and date were at January 1, 2004 at 12:00 a.m. I have the SG-80

Hi,

Thanks for using Fixya.

If your system BIOS time keeps on going back to Jan. 1, 2004 without you changing it. There is a 95% chance that you have a bad battery. All you need to do is to replace it. If replacing it doesn't help, try checking the battery terminal if they are still good. I hope this helps.

Thanks and have a nice day.

Hi,

cmos battery is what keeps you system date. It sound like the cmos battery might be bad. If it's under warrenty I would definitely send it back. less headache to try to troubleshoot yourself.
