The new memory card that I purchased came installed in an adapter for what ever reason. I see now that the card itself is a fraction of the size and I have removed it from the adapter and successfully installed into the Garmin which has not recognized it and will still not download the new maps and updates.

You do not need to open the case to insert the SD Card. On the left side of the 1350 is a small rectangular opening intended for the insertion of a Micro-SD card (carefully). the large adapter is simply there to enable use in other applications and easeier storage & handling. Does this work for you?

You don't have to open the case. There's a slot in the left side of the unit into which the microSD card fits.

Power off the computer and open the case and install the card, There is usually only one slot a video card can fit in (assuming you did the home work to make sure the card is compatible with your system).

Insert the card (you will need to remove the metal cover from the case where the card VGA/DVI ports will exit the case).

Connect your monitor to the new card and Power on the machine and install the software from the CD.

Ram not working

Step 1:
A memory slot is a slot in your motherboard where you place your RAM (Random Access Memory) card. In layman's terms, the RAM is the "temporary memory" that the computer utilizes whenever it is turned on. If the computer cannot detect a RAM card installed in one of your memory slots, you have to troubleshoot the problem immediately.
Ensure that the problem is with the RAM slot and not the memory card. Turn off the computer, unplug all devices connected into the ports of your computer and open the computer casing. Refer to the manual of the computer to know the specific steps to follow in opening the computer casing. Remove the memory card from the RAM slot. To do this, unlock the card using both hands. Pull the card away from the slot to remove. Inspect the RAM card for any apparent physical damages. Wipe the card with a clean cloth to remove dust. Also wipe the memory slot in your motherboard. Place the RAM card back into the memory slot. Press the card into the slot until it clicks into place. Close the computer casing, connect the cables back into their respective slots and turn on the computer. Turn on the computer and see if the memory is detected. If the computer does not boot up, the RAM card is not detected by the computer. Assuming that you have two memory cards installed in the computer and the computer boots up, check if the second memory card is detected by the computer. Click "Start," right-click "Computer" and then "Properties." Under "System," check the amount of "Installed Memory (RAM)." If the RAM is not detected, the RAM slot or the RAM card itself may be malfunctioning. Place the RAM card into another memory slot in your motherboard and see if the card is detected. If it is detected, the other memory slot is malfunctioning. Do not install any RAM card into it to avoid further damage. If it is not detected, the RAM card may be malfunctioning. Insert another RAM card into the slot. If the RAM card is detected, the slot is malfunctioning.

My memory card is not working

Memory cards, also called memory sticks or MS cards, can create problems with a computer. Sometimes, a computer will not read the card or errors cause problems when removing files from the card to put them onto the computer.

Problems range from a virus on the memory card to inappropriate software on the computer. Fixing the problem partly depends on the cause of the problem, but making the card work is simple and takes only a few minutes.

Scan for viruses. Some viruses or worms infect MS cards.

A computer that suspects a virus might interfere with the memory card as a result.

Look for viruses or problems with the anti-virus software that won't allow the memory card to open. If a virus if found, remove the virus through the anti-virus software before opening the memory card.

Check that the computer has the appropriate software installed to read the card.

Some MS cards or memory sticks might require more updated software or specific software that is not on the computer.

If the software is installed, look for current updates and download any updates to determine if the problem is old software.

Open the control panel.

Click on "Add New Hardware" and see if it is available.

If the hardware for the memory card is not installed on the computer, this will allow installation.

Once installed, the card should read.

If the memory card is not showing up, the problem is often damage to the card, which prevents reading the card. If the card is damaged, it must be replaced.

Use an adapter.

Some memory cards are not designed for reading in a computer directly and require the appropriate adapter.

The adapter changes the data to the appropriate system for the computer to read it.

Hope this helps

Palit hd3870 driver, can i use it with ddr2 memory?

Primo,

A graphics card has it's own Processor and graphics memory.
The Processor is a GPU,

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GPU

Slang? Graphics chipset.

This means it runs independent of the system resources;
the Processor and Ram Memory on the motherboard.

Means if they come out with a graphics card using GDDR1000, you can still use DDR2 Sdram ram memory.

For additional questions please post in a Comment.
Regards,
joecoolvette

[TIP:

Windows running, install ALL of the graphics card's software.
The drivers, and the user interface;
(ATI? Catalyst Control Center)

It's okay as Windows won't use the software yet.

If you are asked if you want to restart your computer -> NO
Close all windows, go back to the desktop screen.
Turn the computer OFF.

Open the computer case, FOLLOW Anti-Static Precautions.
Remove the monitor cable from the motherboard, or previous graphics card.

Remove the old graphics card IF you were using one.
Install the new graphics card. Plug the monitor cable into it.
Close the computer case. Plug the computer into power.
WAIT 1 minute, turn the computer on.

Why?

Because when a device is installed on a computer, (Device = Graphics card in this case), Windows will 'break it's neck' to find suitable matching drivers.

If THE drivers for the graphics card are not already installed, Windows will match up one of it's THOUSANDS of generic drivers.
This = No.

Will cause a driver conflict.
Windows: "Which drivers do I use? These or THESE?" ]

Beeping

Hi,

Un-installing and reinstalling the Memory Cards (RAM) from their slots may solve your problem. If they didn't installed properly that happens.
And please check the memory card (RAM) whether they are faulty or not. If there is faulty one, replace it with the new Memory Card. (It beeps if it is faulty or didn't installed properly when you power on the PC.)

Before opening the case please turn off the computer, unplug it from the electrical outlet, then touch the metal casing to eliminate any static charge. Refer to the owner's manual if necessary to determine how to open your particular PC case.

You can find the instructions on how to install PC Memory by clicking THIS LINK.

Hope this helps.

Waiting your comments.

Purchased two sticks of 1 G memory, want to upgrad...

Assuming you purchased the correct memory and you have two open memory slots it is very easy. Just open the computer case and look on the mother board for memory cards that look like the ones that you purchased. If there are two empty slots you just need to insert the cards into these slots (just ensure that you ground yourself before touching the cards or the mother board by anti-static band or at least touching something metal first).

When you boot up assuming the bios is fairly current should recognize the new memory and you should be good to go.

Card reader is saying 'no memory card inserted' on ps2

This is either a bad memory port on the PS2 or a fried memory card. I would suggest that you get a brand new memory card and try that. You can get new ones very cheap at Wal-Mart & Target usually has them on clearance.

If the problem persists with the new card then the port is bad. You then have two choices: send it in to Sony and pay approximately $150 for them to repair it out of warranty. (As long as the seal that covers the screws isn't broken.) The positive side of this is that it includes a year warranty.

The second option is to open the case of the PS2 and switch the plugs that go into the memory ports. This will allow you to insert a card into the second (right) port and the PS2 will think it is in port #1.

Installing a 2nd 256m ram memory card into packard bell imedia3501

Installing more memory to a pc is very universal and is done the same way into all computers out there.

First unplug your pc
e91ab01.jpg
Open the side cover or remove the cover debending on your pc case.

26fd016.jpg
Turn the pc sideways on the floor or table
and locate the memory slots near the cpu.

119c6f9.jpg
In this pc we have 3 memory modules installed
In this case I would have to remove one of the original memory modules first before installing a new one.

But in your computer you should have a extra slot open.

Simply insert the memory into the slot and turn the white switches on the sides to lock the memory in.

And you are done.

Got a new computer-old one crashed. Want to install SanDisk on new computer. How?

If you want to use the flash memory card Sandisk then you will need the appropriate port and just plug it in. if you have no memory card reader ports then you will need to go to a computer store to buy one, if you mean you wish to move the memory card reader from the old computer to the new one that will require opening the case and will void any warranty you might have I would take the memory card reader down t the service center and the new computer and let them install it .
