Question about Video Game Consoles & Games

1 Answer

PSP will not power up. No lights at all with either battery of charger installed. Checked the battery connect terminal and no power at any pins. Removed lable hiding screws. There is power being delivered this far from power supply. Checked the main power fuse "TD" and there is continuity. Same with LCD fuse and USB fuse. Any ideas where the power might be interupted?

Thanks - How can I identify / find the main charge fuse. Note with the power supply plugged in not only battery not charging but no power lights at all and unable to turn on. Is the main charge fuse prior to DC direct takeoff to PSP motherboard?

    Thanks.

It sounds like you have either a dead (broken) battery or your battery isn't making good contact with the motherboard.

Remove your battery and make sure there is nothing stuck in the terminal slots. Also make sure the metal contacts in the batter chamber of the PSP are clean. Then replace the battery.

Give it a little extra push on the back of the battery after you put it in near the battery terminals to make sure you get a solid connection.

If it still doesn't work then you may have a bad battery and will have to replace it. They can be found on ebay fairly cheap. (dont buy the $3 ones though they last about 10 minutes.)

InvaMed Sovereign Mobility Scooter Model S888NR battery charger red light flashing to indicate fault. I have a multimeter and want to know how to test the charger. I need a wiring diagram and to identify...

Hi. Its easy to identify the pins out. Put the probes into the socket on the scooter to read the polarity. the two terminals on opposite sides will be the positive and negative battery supply. The pin to one side is to disable the scooter when the charger is connected. This terminal is normally connected to negative when the charger socket is in place.
Most faults like this are caused by a broken wire in the charger plug orv by a faulty connection in the scooter. Sometimes the charger socket is faulty, check for heat damage or melted plastic.
Check the battery connectors. Good luck. Neil.

I have a PSP that I charged overnight and a orange light came on when i plugged it in to the wall charger. After charging all night I went to power on the PSP and it will not power on, no green or orange...

Remove the battery.
Plug the PSP charger into the PSP.
Turn it on.

The PSP works with no battery inside.
If you're not getting a green light at all, your PSP has some sort of damaged as it should work while plugged in with no battery inside.

Psp carge light wont come on and psp wont turn on

You either have a bad battery, or a bad power supply that charges the unit (power cord). If you have a friend that also has a PSP, try swapping out the battery to see if that works, and or try another power cord to see if the charging indicator light comes on. I think that possibly your battery is dead and the power cord might be bad. You can find good deals for both the battery and cord on ebay. Good luck!

PSP won't come on

Hi pathfinder5x,

Sometimes the little yellow connector gets corraded and does not pass the power from the battery to the PSP. Find something to clean up the contacts on the battery, and where the battery connects inside the PSP.

Laptop will not power on.

Hi,

It is possible that one of the soldered terminals/pins of the power jack of the laptop is disconnected. You can try gently moving the plug of the Charger/AC adapter while connected and see if an indicator light will lit (even if momentarily). If yes, then it is safe to assume that a terminal/pin is loose and would need to be resoldered. If no, then since there is power from the Charger/AC adapter, the laptop's internal circuitry maybe at fault. Most probably parts in the regulator circuitry. This could be as simple as a surface mounted fuse or a 3 terminal voltage regulator. In any case, the unit has to be opened and diagnosed. To do so, you must be familiar with electronic components/circuitry, use of a DVM and a low wattage soldering iron. Should you be uncomfortable with this, perhaps your best bet would be to seek the services of a qualified laptop technician.

Hope this be of some idea/help. Post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

It will not charge

1. The charger may be damaged To check if the charger is damaged, use another functioning charger. The charger cable has a tiny wire that easily breaks when used without proper care. If the phone still does not charge with a functioning charger, try next step. 2. The battery may be damaged Change the battery and try charging again. If the phone still does not charge with a functioning battery, try next step. 3. The battery terminals may not connect properly with the battery connectors Check the battery connector to see if the battery and the connector connects well. The phone will indicate charging only when there?s enough power supply from the battery. click here Solution Procedure: If problem is confirmed, adjust the battery connector using tweezers to reach the battery terminal and establish connection. Or try next step. 4. The charging pin may be damaged or does not connect well with the board's interface Check the charging pins to see if they are well connected to the mother board. Sometimes the charging pins wear out or loosens from its connection with the mother board. click here Solution Procedure: Check if the pin is bent. Straighten the pin using tweezers. Make sure the board interface is also clean otherwise, you will need to clean it by rubbing its surface using an eraser or brushing it with a board solution. Or replace with a new charging pin. Make sure the charging pin touches with the board interface to establish connection. 5. The CCONT IC for DCT3 or UEM for DCT4 or the "K" resister for non-Nokia models may be damaged If the phone still does not charge after adjustments are made, the problem is CCONT IC for DCT3 or UEM for DCT4 or ?K? resister for non-Nokia models. click here
