SOURCE: can't get Blueray player to release DVD
You may now have corrupted firmware. did the dvd contain the firmware update?
Are you sure there wasn't already a cd in the tray? (Ie two cd's are now inside?
The easiest way to remove the cd if turning off fails is to remove the screws around the casing. Lift off the lid and the cd should come out easily, however if the update was corrupt or the wrong firmware you may now have a dead player.
Try removing the Cd as described first with the power off and plug removed.
Then see if the unit powers up and the drawer opens.
If so you may be able to revert it to its original firmware from the vendors site.

I'll be glad to assist you with this. The Region code A,B and C are for Blu-ray Discs. The DVD Discs are having Region 1,2,3 etc. The Region 0 and Region ALL discs plays in all the BD and DVD Players.
Blu-ray and DVD region codes were developed by motion picture studios so they can control the home release of movies in different countries. A movie may come out on video in the United States when it is just being released in European theaters.
Every BD and DVD player is given a code for the region that it is sold. A BD & DVD player will not play a disc that is not coded for its region. This means that a BD purchased in one country may not play on a BD player purchased in another country.
DVD players sold in Singapore with the Region code A & 3 are coded to play Region A&3 BD and DVDs. They also will play discs labelled Region 0 or All. There is no way to override the region code. None of the companies allow to override the region codes legally. The only option is to purchase region free players or discs with region ALL codes.
NOTE: Region codes do not apply to recordable discs

If you already have this firmware then you need to contact Samsung.. The last upgrade was 5th oct 2012.. not good enough Samsung.. :(

hola bunas tardes tengo un blu ray no me quiere leer las peliculas de blu ray mi blu ray es Blu-ray BD-C5500 el me leia todas las peliculas pero luego de comprar unas pelicula en la calle cuando la me ti me *** un error que decia no puedo leer el cd por favor verificar que el tipo de formato que puede leer su blu ray , ya tambien lo actualice y nada sigue el problema constante no se que hacer quien me puede ayudar
