Question about Exercise & Fitness
The motor is running and the belt turns but as soon as you try to walk on it the belt stops turning completly and feels like it is sliding.
The most likely cause of the problem is a worn treadmill belt and deck.
Most of the time its caused from not lubricating between the treadmill belt and deck. This causes friction and the surfaces wear putting greater stress on the electronics. The treadmill is shutting down to protect the electronics.
See the block diagram that i did design for easy troubleshooting and diagnose.
sincerely. God bless you.

Either there is too much load for the motor, or the motor is weak, or the controller in failing and unable to adjust for changes in resistance.
By far the most common problem is too much load. Do the checks in your manual to be sure the walk belt is not too tight or dry. Also check that the motor belt is not too tight, you should be able to twist it 90 degrees. If you loosen both belts until they just begin to slip and then retest you might find the everything is okay which indicates the walk belt may need lubing or replacing. If the walk board under belt looks pitted, grooved, or distorted it also would need replacing.
If the unit passes the tests above and a push test then the problem will be in the motor or controller or possibly both. If the motor passes a walk/voltage output test then it might be okay and you might only need a controller. Unfortunately, it is common for a failed motor to damage a controller and vice versa, and that damage might not show up immediately, so you if one has failed you might consider replacing both.

SOURCE: good evening, hope all is
if the motor is still turning and the belt is not moving then you have two things it could be.
1. the walking belt needs to be tightened by adjusting the bolts at the rear of the machine for the rear roller (equal turns for both)
2. the drive belt is no longer tight or has come off and may need readjusted
did you open the front end to look inside yet? i am willing to bet that if you check these both out you should get it solved since the motor still runs
