Can i adjust this to allow backpedaling?

There can be many reasons that you are not able to smoothly backpedal, none of which have to do with a specific derailleur. The derailleur could be out of adjustment or bent out of alignment, the chain could have tight links, you may be in a gear where the chain is at a big angle from front to back, the rear cogs (cassette/freewheel) might be sticky, etc, etc. Impossible to diagnose and fix without much more info, and even then very difficult to do so remotely.

I would strongly suggest you get a diagnosis by a bike shop, a friend who is experienced in bike repair, or if you have a bike co-op in your area they can both determine what is wrong and help you fix it yourself.

Require assembly schematic for shimano dura ace shifter . left shifter lever failed, will not activate the front derailler, disassembled, found nothing broken, require advice regarding proper reassembly...

log onto Shimano.com, it is probably the limit screws (the two screws that limit travel) or you have a faulty ratchet in the lever, try the shimano website anyway they have great tutorial and manual support

Unable to select bottom gear shimano 100gs

Here is a link to a tech sheet for a Shimano Deore rear derailleur. It is not your exact one, but all Shimano derailleurs are more or less the same. Make sure you have thoroughly cleaned your drivetrain with a degreaser (like Simple Green) and a brush to clear all grease and debris before making adjustments. The second step is to shift into your highest gear (the smalles cog) and then release the cable in the derailleur, pull taut and retighten it. Check again to make sure you can not get into low gear, because it may have been a problem with cable tension, which you just fixed. If it still does not, then adjust the "L" setting on the derailleur so that the jockey wheel on the derailleur will move just ever so slightly past the last cog on the cassette when the shifter is fully engaged.

Hope this helps,
matt

Shimano Deore LX right hand rear shifter

HERE is Shimano's exploded-view diagram of the shifters, but it really only gives you a ballpark idea of the assembly. You will have to piece the rest together from memory, i suppose. Sorry, i could not find more information for you.

Hope this helps a little,
matt

8speed lx shifter to xt shifter

It depends.. Shifter cables are standard and the same one would work for both LX and XT shifters. If the old cable is full of grime etc, it is a good idea to run new cables - it will give you a smooth easy shift.

I am sure if you check www.shimano.com you will find the manual for your model of shifter. Replacing cables is pretty easy.
