The easiest way to reset a Maytag washer is to disconnect the power to the washing machine for three minutes. This is a common problem, you can run a few cups of vinager or bleach in a empty load set to hot wash and this will help. To keep it from coming back when your done doing wash wipe the door gasket down with a rag dampened with bleach and never shut the door all the way. Good Luck
