JVC KD-A11 Tape Deck. Help on Belt Ghange

I opened it up, i found the belt kit, i put it in place and i closed the deck again sure that everything is great. What a surprise..... when you press the "play" button the cassette plays with lot of (how can i say) "bass" and you hear the sound from "a distance". What is the trick? I couldn't find a service manual on Internet and Audio Forums. Help needed please!!!

SOURCE: kd-g322 error code query

take off the front panel and press the reset button with a pencil. See first page of manual. You will have to reset all your radio stations but the cd will work. Mine did but not sure for how long.

SOURCE: What wiring harness and deck install kit?

you should be able to look it up at the place of purchase, stores like wal-mart have books with info for the specific vehicle, online like crutchfield will probably tell you everything you need.

The deck will need new belts and idler drives cleaned and serviced, and perhaps some idler tyres replaced. You can get a belt kit from these guys. replacing them is not such a difficult job if you have some mechanical aptitude. Just take it slowly, and focus on getting the transport out of the unit.

SOURCE: jvc kd lx111 deck wont eject cd

I just had this problem today and when I attempted to eject the CD it would give me an error message that stated (ERR 32). Apparently this means that there is something blocking the movement of the screen, a little manipulation should help the issue. Another variable could be the Eject lock feature, essentially a "child lock" for your disc. When this lock is activated it prevents the CD in the deck to be ejected. You can change this by holding down the blue source button and the eject button simultaneously for about 2 or 3 seconds. A message should appear saying "No Eject" and one that repeatedly flashes "Eject on" These two things seemed to help me alot when I had this issue. If those things don't work I would recommend calling JVC, much to my suprise they were actually really helpful. Their number is 1-800-252-5722.

Either go to Marrs Communications and order the belt kit or the longer route is to measure subtract 5% and order the right type belt from Consolidated Electronics.

Replace a Tape Deck Belt

. Remove top lid (4 screws on the side)
2. remove the back plastic mount on the mechanics (2 pink long screws on the top). The bottom are two plastic hook lock. The mount pulls back and the belt and pulleys are exposed. NOTE: It is the mount you are removing, not the tape deck itself.

How to replace drive belts in a yamaha K500

It is a simple matter of getting the Service Manual, then obtaining the belt kit from Marrs Communications belt supplier and then determining how to get the belts into the mechanics of the deck,
If you are not a Tape Deck Technician, then this may seem like an insurmountable task as the transport need to come out or at least open access to it's rear to take of thrust plates and parts of the mechanism that is required to get the belts into the unit. As a Tape Technician of 40 some years, I can tell you that there may be other things in the deck that also need attention like tires on reel table or other idlers, other small belts not supplied in the kit and the oiling of the Flywheel and capstan bearing. If you JUST put belt in you are doing half a job and the deck still may not run at the correct speed. There is also technical equipment needed to set speed as well as test tapes. New belts almost always require that the speed is set to the reference standard of 3KHz or 3150Hz depending on what test tape you have. This kind of work can take over and hour and some machines depending on design can take two. Calibration is done to a deck by any of the good Technician I have worked with. This is currently my full time business so if you need my help, I am available.
I have a lot of belts in stock- I have been doing this for 40 years so far.

JVC TD-W901 Door is Jammed, Neither Side will Play

First of all, it could be belt (or belts), it could be a cam, it could be a motor. It could be the door isn't seated properly. It could be that the lubrication has dried out. It could be you haven't cleaned the heads and such since 1989.

If you put it back together properly without a service manual it is a miracle.

Second of all, it is the wrong kind of deck to be doing what you are doing. It is just two cheap portable cassette deck mechanisms attacked electronically in one case. Get a good single cassette deck with a playback trim control, such as a Yamaha or NAD.

JVC TD-W718 double tape deck capstan belt

Probably the wrong belt. It is also possible that your old belt had stretched and the machine was playing slow. Check with a recording of instrumental (not vocal) music.

If you have a little screwdriver you can adjust the motor's speed via the little hole on the back of the motor.

I suggest a plastic screwdriver so you don't short something out.

Using a tuning fork or electronic tuner or musical instrument will help you get the speed right.

RE:JVC CASSETTE DECK MODEL # KD-D4J,PROBLEM, TRANSPORT JAMMED WITH CASSETTE INSIDE,ALL BUTTONS/CONTROLS INOPERATIVE? OPENED UNIT AND MANAGED TO REMOVE CASSETTE ,DID NOT USE UNIT AGAIN. THIS PROBLEM...

it sounds like your tape heads are worn they will strip your cassettes every time and give you very poor sound reproduction it can be repaired but costly to be honest you would be better off with a new deck and it will be cheaper all round.

I hooked up my jvc kd-avx11 and i had power to open and close

check to be sure the deck has 12v+ switched to the red wire, 12v+ constant to the yellow wire, and that the black is grounded well.. If all of that is correct, you are probably looking at a unit in need of repair.

Tape deck won't open

If this is a deck where the tape slides in horizontally, like most car stereo tape players, you may have a broken or slipping belt. The fact that you "haven't used it in a long time" suggests a worn-out belt.

In my car stereo, the belt slips when it's cold and won't play or eject the tape. After a few minutes, the unit "warms up" and the belt starts turning. Then everything is fine.

I think we both need to replace our belts.
