SOURCE: Can't read specific Zip 100MB Diskette

Its probably a bad disk. The only way I have been able to fix these is to First launch disk utility THEN put the disk in. THEN run the utility. You have to do it in this order. The key thing here is utility has to be running first and then insert the disk "HOT"
Hope this helps!

You have formatted the hard drive (containing Boot Manager) using recovery disk 1.
That's why the error message.

Just insert disk 1 again.
Shut down the computer (press & hold the power button for a minute).
Restart.

Follow the instructions that come up.

If it doesn't help, reseat the hard drive. (open the back cover, take out hard drive, reconnect it)
Also you may go to BIOS (tap F1 while booting) and set the cd-drive as the first boot device.

Hope it helps.

Just because the device manager says the drive is working fine doesn't mean it is. If it won't recognize the ZIP disk, either the disk itself is bad or the zip drive is bad. I would try another zip disk and see if it will read a known good zip disk.

Iomega zip port

First of all, make certain you are only using 100 MB disks in a 100 MB reader.

If the problem is more complex than that, I have several questions:

Can you read different disks?

what type of connection is the zip drive using with the computer? USB?

does the zip drive need an external power supply?

will the zip drive successfullly read disks when connected to a different computer?

does the zip drive appear under my computer at all? even as an empty drive?

what operating system are you using?
Not finding what you are looking for?
