How do I download a users manual for a Toshiba external hard drive TB 2.0


Not sure Toshiba will let you download a PDF of the file, But did you try the support page of their site?
I can't enter, because I don't have a drive and any number. Feel free to test this one:

My book essential has worked for several months now til now.... the white light is just blinking and my computer doesntg seem to recognize it anymore what should i do?


From the user manual (click here) on page 4, the slow blinking means that the drive is in standby mode.
The user manual does not explain how to get the drive out of standby mode, but you may want to try the procedure for powering off the drive that is on page 34 that say to press the power button on the back of the unit and wait for the LEDs to turn off.
If the unit does not power-off on its own within a few minutes of pressing the power button, the next thing to do is the following:
Shut down your computer with the drive still connected and powered-up. Once the computer is completely powered-down (no lights on or noise coming from the computer, unplug the power cord of the external USB hard drive and wait a minute. After you've waited a minute with the external USB hard drive unplugged from power, plug the power cord back in to the external USB hard drive Make sure the USB cable from the drive to the computer is properly connected. Power-up your computer using the power button on the computer and let the computer boot as usual. Once the computer has booted, check whether the external USB hard drive is now available.

How do i backup my files using the verbatim external hard drive usb 2.0 . Can i access a user manual online . I received none with the product. maybe the command is so simple or obvious plese help


May I know the Model # of the External Hard Drive?

You can directly copy the data that you want to backup and paste it in the external Hard Drive. You can also right click on the folder/data and select sent to option--->and then select the external hard drive (a drive letter will be assigned to the external hard drive also).
