I would remove the power adapter, battery, RAM and hard drive. Press the power button for a few seconds to discharge everything. Plug the adapter back in and press power. If the laptop throws a wobbly and messages appear on the screen, power it off and add the RAM, do it again and the add the hard drive. If it does nothing when all is removed, the motherboard has a fault, otherwise the issue will be apparent as items are added.
Sometimes removing and replacing the RAM and hard drive will fix this problem.
Remove power unit, battery, RAM and hard drive. Press the power button to discharge any energy that is left. Insert the power plug and press power. If the laptop goes to the start screen, the motherboard is probably OK. remove the power supply. Add the RAM and repeat. Then do it again adding the hard drive. There will be a point when the faulty item is identified or it will now boot.
Reinsert the battery and plug the computer back in.
Try turning it on.
Many HP laptops have a built in static protection that needs to be released. This could be what happened in your case. If this reset doesn't work you will probably need to get it repaired by a technician.
I hope this helps! If this did help you, please give a thumbs up!
No Screen on Pavilion DV2000T I had this problem before. Tere is a good chance this may work. First

-REPLUG THE POWER CABLE BUT DONT PUT THE BATTERY PACK YET

SYSTEM WILL START. ONCE YOUR SYSTEM IS READY SHUT IT DOWN PUT THE RAM AND BATTERY
PACK BACK AND CONTINUE TO USE YOUR LAPTOP.
It hope fully will work as if you get one or more beeps, the POST is completing alright. Hope that helps.
Computrace has nothing to do with adding RAM to the system, it merely enables the theft reporting capability of the system (It basically will call home to computrace if stolen)
Should just be as simple as:
Disconnect power and remove battery, then hold power button 10 seconds to release any stored charge in system.
Install RAM at a 30 degree angle till gold contacts completely disappear into slot, then press RAM down till it latches
Power on and enter setup to recognize new RAM configuration, save and exit
If system will not post with upgrade RAM installed then RAM may not be compatible, or BIOS may need to be flashed to current version before installing upgrade modules.
Once you change the ram, you have to boot to the system setup so that the BIOS can recognize the new module.
When inserting the ram module in the slot, it should be at a 30 degree angle to the system and inserted till the golden contacts can not be seen looking straight down at the slot. Then press the module down until the retention clips click. The top edge of the contacts should then be barely visible.
Once the RAM has been properly inserted, then boot to the system setup, exit then boot to windows
