Why a pc boots and slows down after few months and what is the solution to make a pc work faster

Hi,

There are multiple solutions for this.

1. You can run the command "msconfig". You will find several startup services under "startup" tab. There you can select the services which you do not want to run while starting up the operating system. This will resolve the problem of slow booting.
2. You can search for *.tmp files which will get generated depending on the file changes you are making in the desktop / laptop. Once you complete your search of *.tmp files, you can delete those.
3. Try to cleanup the files which are getting stored on your hard drives. For this you can right click on the drive and select properties. In the first window you will be able to see the option of Disk Cleanup. Mark all the checkboxes and click on OK. This will delete the files which are consuming too much disk space.
4. Try to defrag your disk drive so that the performance gets optimized.

Thanks,
Amar

My pc is too slow what can i do?frequently it becomes hang.

the easiest solution could be to totally shut down your computer. let it reset itself, and power it back up again. If that does not seem to help, then I would clear the cache on your PC. I would also run a scan - see if there are errors.

Do you have alot of games on your PC? Do you download anything free that is offered? Many times that slows a PC way down.

Hi my computer runs real slow ive use mcafee to try to clean it but it seems to be still running slow

Hi,
Click Start-> Run, type msconfig and click Ok. The System Configuration Utility will start. Now click on Startup tab. You will see a list of programs which starts automatically when Windows starts.
In that list, uncheck the program items, which you generally don't use. It will make your computer a little faster.
The above procedure can also be modified a little, that is uncheck all items under Startup tab, restart your computer.
Now check one item at a time, restart computer and test the speed of your computer. This way, you will find the programs, which are making the computer show. Remember to use a pen and paper to take a note about which items you are selecting or unselecting.

Please try one more thing:

Open Start-> Settings-> Control Panel-> System. Click on Advanced tab. Under Performance, click on Settings, click on Adjust for best performance, click Apply and Ok.

Then do this Click->Start->Programes->Accessories->System Tools->Disk Clean Up and select the C:Drive and clean it

Thanks

Day time all is good . after 5:00 or so it is very slow **** mostly no signal at all.

Your internet? if its your internet than you need to talk to your provider. If it is your laptop then you must have a program taht auto-starts at 6. I suggest you look through all your processors and make sure you aren't running a ghost image program which slows down your computer.

Hope this helps ^^. Please dont forget to rate, Thanks

May be your computer motherboard wires connection get loose or getting moisture in wires. Or there may be some earthing problem in ur power switch. First, check the wires connection & tighten up properly. if problem persists, check the earthing by power tester. Check you RAM if it is properly tight in the jack.

I cant get factory settings on my computer My hard drive wont work properly Ihavent got any memory.Computer very slow Please explain in laymans terms Obliged

1. Factory settings on computer.
There really isn't "factory settings" to reset. Well it isn't simple as that. There is the BIOS which can be reset to "default settings" for the BIOS. Also most brand name computers come with a recovery feature, in which you can recovery/restore the computer back to original factory defaults with original software all installed. Therefore the computer's operating system (usually windows) will be running with the programs like it would run if you were to buy the same new laptop.

2. Hard drive won't work properly.
You can give the hard drive a test using the hard drive's company's hard drive testing software which can be download from their site. The software would test the hard drive to make sure nothing physical is wrong and the hard drive is functioning like normal.

3. Haven't got any memory. Computer very slow.
You can always buy more memory. If windows says it's running out of memory. That means there is too many software running in the background.

Comment if you want more explained.

After i install norton antivirus protection, my computer runs very slow .can you please help?

Hi,

That is usually the case. Norton eats up a lot of resources. If it is slowing the computer too much, either uninstall it, turn off real time protection or get more RAM for your PC.
