You have to open the front cover, than remove the right side. After that pull out the toner box. There is a blue screw located where the toner stays, loosen the screw ( it can not be removed ).That is the developer box, you will see the screws remove them and clean the old developer and put the new one.close the machine switch on and is ok.

HOW DO I SOLVE TROUBLE CODE C2557 ERROR

Image Unit fault, has the developer been replaced? Was it replaced correctly, with required counters cleared first!!! And proper test run after install? Was who ever installed new developer using a vacuum cleaner? If so might have destroyed the sensor located below the developer unit. (NEVER EVER USE A VACUUM CLEANER TO REMOVE DEVELOPER STATIC ELECTRICTY can destroy the ATDC (Automatic Toner Density Control) sensor. Toner mixes with the developer, on any Developer unit. So you could have a bad sensor or control board. As for the counters if the developer was replaced but counters not properly cleared then copier thinks the developer is old and will adjust voltage as required when in fact it is new developer which is installed and messing with image issues and causing codes. KONICAMINOLTA copiers USE THOSE COUNTERS!!!!!!!!!

Buy new developer, and replace the drum and cleaning blade also normally done together.

Were does the developer go. Inside the Developer MOdule? in a certain place? Or does it get put into the toner container?

The developer is not a toner. It goes in the developer unit, it is installed by a service rep. You need to empty out the used developer & install the new bag of developer & rest the counter & set the developer up to add toner when needed. To make a long story on developer short > it is made up of iron filings & it holds the toner on the developer make roller to make a even coat of toner on your paper... Good Luck..... Just to let you know your copier is a Ricoh and it is a dul component copier

Minolta EP2010 CSPro copier: Where does the develper bottle go??? I see the Toner MT 102a bottle but where does the Develper bottle install. Or does the toner bottle already have the develper filings?

When the developer is added during normal replacement, the developer bottle is installed in place of the toner bottle. Then when the F8 mode is initiated from the service mode the developer is added into the developer unit and automatically calibrated. This is only done after the old developer has been cleaned from the DV unit.
The toner bottle contains no developer. The developer is replaced separately and only needs to be changed about every 80,000 pages.
Good Luck and Thnak You for using Fixya.

Change the developer in afficio 450

To remove the Dev. unit.
1. Open the right upper cover and front cover.
2. PCU. (☛ 3.11.1)
NOTE: Spread paper on a clean flat surface that is free of pins, paper clips,
staples, screws or any other metal objects.
3. Loosen [A] (! x1)
4. Rotate bracket [B] left.
5. Development unit [C]
NOTE: Pull slowly to avoid scratching or nicking the development roller.
6. Set the development unit on the spread paper.
7. If you are temporarily installing a used development unit for test purposes,
perform SP2-220 and 2-802-1 after installation (☛ Chapter 5, “Service Tables)

Replacing the Dev. material.
1. Development unit (☛ 3.12.1)
2. Remove the development roller (☛ 3.12.3)
3. Empty toner [A]
4. Turn drive gear [B] to ensure that no developer remains in the unit or on the
developer roller.
NOTE: Dispose of the used developer in accordance with local regulations.
Work carefully to avoid scratching or nicking the development roller.
5. Pour approximately 1/3 of the developer [C] evenly along the length of the
development unit.
6. Rotate the drive gear [D] to work the developer into the unit. Repeat [C] and [D]
until all toner is in the unit and level with the edges.
7. Reassemble the development unit
8. Cover the toner entrance hole [A] with a piece of paper.
9. Install the development unit in the machine.
10. Turn on the main power switch, make sure that the machine has warmed up,
then perform the TD sensor initial setting using SP 2-801.
NOTE: When performing this setting, cover the toner entrance hole with a
piece of paper. This prevents used toner falling from the PCU into the
development unit during the TD sensor initial setting and interfering
with the Vref setting (toner density reference voltage).
11. After performing the TD sensor initial setting, remove the sheet [A] from the development unit.

This is how you replace and reset (calibrate) the new Dev. material.

Sharp AR 407

You will need to get some developer.  Usually you can get it from who you get your toner from.
Remover all developer out of the cartridge using a vacuum.  Carefully remove all developer off of the mag roller as well.
Install developer evenly into the cartridge.
You will need to run a service code to initialize the developer and reset the counter.  If this isn't done properly, the developer will get contaminated and have to be removed again.
You should obtain a service manual for step by step instructions on how to replace the developer for your particular copier.
