I installed a 2 thermostatic valves in our shower. Two of us can use both showerheads simultaneously without being frozen or scalded.

Kind Regards,

The water pressure to the H/C is very weak while the w/p to the handheld is fine

Most new faucets have to adhere to a standard of output so they are regulated.

My shower has no volume control. Hot water runs out too soon. Can I have a pressure reducing valve installed in existing showerhead?

    Hello, W/D here.
Yes you can; they sell them at the big box hardwares, and even at larger discount stores, Easier still is to replace your shower head with one that has a restrictor in it. For the most frugal, they make an in line restrictor valve that has an on/off selector where you can get wet, shut the water off and lather up, then turn it back on and hose off. These were very popular in the 70's, and are still available.
    Best regards, --W/D--

Installed new tub/shower valve, water comes out of showerhead when water is turned on even though spout is open

the diverter valve is probably bad. put a new one in. the valve cuts off the water to shower, while running bath water.

I want more water pressure/volume from my sigmatherm shower faucet. Is there an ''inside the wall'' volume adjustment?

If you are looking for more flow from your showerhead, remove the showerhead and check the following.

    1. Check for debris inside the connection nut.
    2. See if you can locate a flow restrictor inside the connection nut. There are a few different types, but most can be removed with little effort.
    3. If your showerhead has small rubber nozzles on the face, rub them with your finger while the water is flowing. This will loosen and wash away any sediment that may be present in them.

This picture shows one type of restrictor that is used in showerheads.

New House The women is complating that then she shower at any of her bathroom tub shower unit the faucet become cold for a little while on all her Moen chateau faucet. We have change all valve cartrige

The problem is most likely with "the back pressure from the flow restrictor in the showerhead causing the spool in the cartridge to sense a false pressure drop. This is forcing the spool to shift, restricting a full hot water temperature from coming out." Believe it or not, I got this information from Moen. Their solution was to send out a valve without the multi settings of the original and that didn't work very well. I can only tell you that I used an older showerhead without the water saver feature and the valve and cartridge worked fine. The problem your having is with the cartridge/showerhead combination and short of using an older showerhead there is not a satisfactory solution. Maybe your plumber has a better solution.

Low water pressure in bath shower.

Assuming your pressure is OK in other parts of the house and with other fixtures in the same bathroom, check the showerhead screen for sediment, then pull the cartridge out of the valve body (first remove the cap on the knob, then the knob, then the sleeve with the protruding key-way, then the round trim plate. shut off the service stops, then remove the small retaining clip (needle nose pliers needed) that holds the cartridge in place. then screw the screw that holds the handle in partially to the stem and pry the cartridge out of the valve body by pulling straight out of the valve, I often use a claw hammer on the screw and pad it out from the wall with a thick book (or get a cartridge puller if you don't mind spending $20). You will likely see sediment clogging part of the cartridge, and when you partially open the service stops with the cartridge removed, you will also likely see dirty water and sediment. Thoroughly flush the valve body by opening both service stops for a few seconds and then reverse the process to put the whole thing back together. You may want to change the cartridge and replacements are widely available for the valve you mentioned above. Bring the old one with you as many look similar but are not the same.
Good luck. If you have more questions let me know and I can probably send you some pictures...

Hansgrohe concealed thermostatic mixer ref no 1537418

check for sediment in your valve body... sometimes sediment can build up particularly in hot water pipes and that can cause the pressure balancing function of the valve to limit total hot water and therefore you cant get it hot enough... here is a link to what I think is the proper valve and the instructions for installing it... you'll want to follow the instructions for flushing and pressure testing... if you have good pressure at the thermo body then you might try adjusting the hot limit stop also covered in the document linked below...

    Hope theat helps...
