Paper jams on dell 3115cn(only with color)

My dell 3115cn prints and copies black and white properly. When I try to print or copy anything color, the paper jams up in the fuser. I am not using dell ink, but I have not had this problem before with after market ink Thanks, B

Epson cx3200 printer has printing problem


Hello cockie ,

You can diagnose most problems by checking the control panel LED's for ink out, paper-out or copier problem.
If a problem occurs while you're printing, you'll see an error message in the progress window on your computer.
It may also be helpful to try running a printer nozzle check.

See the following message problems and solutions:

Error Message Probable Cause No color or black ink cartridge - - >
Press the Color Copy button to install a new ink cartridge.
The indicated cartridge is not installed or it is installed incorrectly. Color or black ink out - - >
Press the Color Copy button to begin replacing the ink cartridge.

Konica Minolta 1690MF causing Fuser Paper Jam error when printing color. Does NOT happen when printing black and white. (Paper is genuinely stuck entering the fuser). Why is the problem happening for...


I was wondering if the original poster of this problem found a solution. My printer does the EXACT same thing. B & W printing is perfect. Any color print jams in the fuser. The printer feeds the paper too far (from thin copy paper to cardstock) so that the top of the page is cut off. Konica sent me a new fuser but that did not solve the problem. Again, this only happens when printing any page that has color on it (even a document with only one letter in color). B&W printing is unaffected.

My Dell 3115cn MFP prints 3 blank pages between prints or copies if I print more than 1 copy how do I fix this? What is causing it?


I will do first a full printer cleaning, that mean take off all dust and anything can that can be inside the printer (ex.bugs and dirt accumulation).
Second try to locate the printer rollers and check if they are in good condition.Printer rollers need to be in good condition because those are the parts that move the paper inside the printer.
Also when you feed the papers into the feeder make sure you air the paper so they don,t stick together.

Will not copy


This means one of the cartridges is defective, they cant align if they cant print. What i did to fix this problem is insert 2 working cartridges and get it to align properly, even if they are low on ink, then lift the cover and the cartridges will move to the center. When this happens pull the power cable out, then insert the full non functioning cartridge. Plug the power cable back in. I tried this with a color cartridge, the color cartridge was non functioning but i was able to print in black. Basically you align the cartridges and then swap them so the printer thinks they are still aligned. The color still doesnt work and it is probably a defective color cartridge.

Copies made are totally black. what do i do? i changed cartridged, put in new paper then copied. it copied fine after 20pages, copy sounded like it was jamming up, paper came out with some parts black....

Please check your Printer setup. or options ( I am not familiar with this printer. what terms they use- I'm not sure) Ther will be options for Print in Color or Black. Make sure the radio button for COLOR is checked. This way, black and color both will print in the correct color. So leave it on color even when you want to print in Black. The black radio button is there for a different reason.

My printer will not print any documents, it does print a test page, when I select print the paper is ejected. I have re installed the software.


Try to print a self test page from the printer directly using the below steps....
  1. Make sure the printer is loaded with plain, white paper. Remove any special or colored paper.
  2. Press Setup on the front panel of the product.
  3. Press 1 , to select Print Report , then 5 , to select Self Test .After you have the report printed, check for 4 horizontal color bars in that report, the first color should be the the black one, if the black one is missing, issue seems to be with black cartridge, that may be the reason the printer spits out blank paper, try to replace the black cartridge and then copy if it copies or not.

Ricoh copy machine 3025 paper jams every time we try to print


Make sure the paper that is in the drawer matches the orientation and size indicated on thje Op Panel Display, If NOT, MAKE IT MATCH.

NOTE: The problem occurs because of the trickle development system in the machine, making extended lengths of black and white copies / prints does not allow the black developer housing to purge itself of excess waste Toner (Dry Ink) and Developer. There are two solutions for the problem:
  • Make 1,000 copies / prints of a black and white job, then make 150 copies / prints of full color. Continue making 1,000 copies / prints of the black and white job, then 150 full color, and so on, until the entire black and white job is complete.
  • Make extended jobs in groups of 100 by making 100 copies / prints of the black and white job, then allowing the machine to cycle down (return to 'Ready') and making the next 100 copies / prints. Continue in this pattern until the entire black and white job is complete.
NOTE: The above solutions are based on jobs using 8.5 x 11 inch paper, single sided, with no more than 28% coverage.

Printer and Making Copies does not work!


Will the machine run a paper path test?
This sounds like it could be a sensor indicating a paper jam, if this is the case, it won't run anything through the paper path (not even a blank page).
