We have the Fuji FinePix S7000 digital camera and recently it started getting horizontal lines like interference across the picture. There are 2 lines that remind me of those that old VHS tapes used to get. After these lines appear the camera shuts itself down. We've replace batteries at least 6 times and nothing will fix it. Thank you.

Yes, the horizontal lines show up on the viewfinder and if you can get a pic in before it shuts down, they show up in the pic too. Thanks

Thanks so much mistersony, you've been helpful. I hate to have to send it in but at least we know what the problem is and can be taken care of. Have a great day!!! You're the best.

OK saw your previous post. So you get vertical lines on the LCD screen and then the camera shuts off? I believe that camera also has an LCD viewfinder; if so, do you see the lines in the viewfinder as well as on the LCD screen on the back of the camera?

The lines you are seeing are likely caused by one or more components that have failed in the internal power supply of the camera. That is also consistent with the camera shutting off. I'm sorry but your camera will have to be serviced. I'm sorry to have tell you that, but if you appreciate my advice, please rate my solution, it is appreciated. Thanks

I think, it's a CCD Error. That means a complete Line fails.

Horizontal lines in the photo, followed by purple hazing and finally black...the CMOS sensor is defective (recalled many years ago) and finally gave out. Your little camera is done, sorry.

Canon A430 - horizontal lines

Tend to agree with you that it's a common design problem for the A430, but it's a very different issue than CCD failure mentioned in you referenced article.

Please see this Fixya post instead of the one that you mention above. Unfortunately, Canon has yet to officially recognize this A430 specific problem. But if you reference this Fixya post, (include a link), when contacting Canon (if in US, email is CareCenter@cits.canon.com. You'll have to research www.canon.com to find an equivalent UK email contact), who knows you might get lucky

Oh my goodness, don't disassemble and don't go banging your A95's up for this problem. Sorry I missed this post when you first submitted it.

This sounds like it might a defective CCD imager. If so, Canon should FIX THIS FOR YOU FOR FREE, including FREE SHIPPING both ways. This is regardless of your camera's warranty status. Please check the following two links for more info:

Horizontal lines in pictures

hi If u find that the lines are vertical that is often a result of taking pictures of very bright subjects. This is  called vertical streaking. If the lines are horizontal lines there is probably something wrong with your sensor and you should have the camera looked at by an authorized service technician , and they will send it out to have it looked at. hope this helps!
thank u rate me!!!

Horizontal LINES

If you are getting fine horizontal lines thet means the picture is over exposing. most probably the apparture or the shutter blade mechanism is not working fine. needs repairs.

White horizontal lines on display.

Cameras dont like drop tests! Check if you are getting the same results on the images- printed or viewed on the computer screen. This will prove whether is is a LCD error or CCD error or Processor error But the remedy will be that same New Camera
