I also checked at the pins where detachable faceplate attaches, and found 4.89 volts on several pins there, still no illumination on faceplate or functions when power button depressd. again I tried pushing and holding a pin sized reset button on faceplate to no avail need a detailed answer please P.S. Go this link and download the user manual.

As you have tested the connection try to check it by connecting to a different power source. You may have to open the system because the connection on the main power board may have damaged. In that case you need to get it serviced by a qualified technician.

Thanks

Hi,

On bench testing, both the red and yellow wires must be supplied with + 12 volts. Of course the black and the body/chassis goes to the negative.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.

It could be the power button itself which is not having direct contact inside it. If power test is ok, more likely its just the power button. How about try to trace circuit board where the power button is soldered or running, then try to short it. You can also try to replace the power button only.

I have just bought a planet audio ap1500d and when i hooked it up the protection light turns on not the power

disconnect any woofers and retry the ignition sequence (if still in protection get yourself a digital multimeter and check to make sure you have @ least 12volts of power (if under 10 volts the amp will go in protection from under voltage)and good ground as well as remote if you do have all these things return the amp where you bought it or have it checked out) if the amp works you have a blown woofer

Radio and cd player in jaguar xj6 works sometimes,

Ir could very well be a ground wire loose. Sometimes on the car stereos they go for mor quantity than qaulity so sometimes they skimp out on the goods. I would never recommend you to tear into a Jaguar unless you knew what you were doing. If you do look on the back of the cd player and check all connections.

Hold is on and nothing will will work how do i turn off hold on a alpine cda-7892 cd player

Try resetting it. Also if it won't reset using the reset button found behind the faceplate. Take off the negative battery cable under the hood this should reset everthing. Then replace it. If it is old and the motor is having trouble kicking the cd out then stick a used no good cd in on top of the other cd and use it to apply pressure to the cd in the player then pull it out after pressing eject

Have an ALPINE CDA 7995 that won't eject CD - looking for possible suggestions without having to pull the deck

It should have a reset button on the display, try pressing thatin with a paperclick, toothpick, or something small enough to get into that tiny little switch. If if does not have a reset switch try disconnecting the harness on the back of the radio for just a few seconds and then plug it back in. Once the unit resets, the cd player should initialize and eject the disc.
If this does not work you will need to take it in for service at a repair center. Alpines are very good stereos and worth getting fixed.

I believed so that something is draining power in your circuit. I suggest that you must activate the SIrius now and check together with the Alpine if it help fix the problem. It is maybe it turns out to be that the Sirius resist the flow of power when it is not activated.
