Laars lite 2 LD400N - Igniter system looks nothing lke the picture in manual

My heater does not flameup so we are thinking it’s the igniter. My manual (for the "Model LG & LD Pool and Spa Heater") has an exploded parts view of the burner tray for the LD (Direct Ignition) model. While the picture of the gas valve for the LD matches what I actually have in my unit, the picture of the LD Igniter does not. The picture shows a hotsurface igniter (see a picture here: http://www.parts4heating.com/SearchResults.asp?Extensive_Search=Y&Search=R0317200), but what I actually see in my unit looks nothing like that. This makes identifying parts difficult for me--has anyone here gotten around this problem? How?

Hello my name is Heath it will be my pleasure to assist you. Find the rollout switch and on the back there is a small red button if you push the button in it will reset the switch. The rollout is usually located near the burner section of the heater.I will attach a picture of a rollout switch which shows the small red button.11c0d2e.jpg

Hi,
The control module is not sensing the flame.

You did not list the exact model number but I think this kit will fit your heater.
Check your model number to tell for sure.

If the heater is "acting normal" with no failure codes and you smell gas, then I would bet it's the igniter. The fact that you smell gas indicates the heater does not have a failure in any of the safety circuits and wants to fire. It is just missing an ignition source or the gas you smell is not making it to the proper place to be ignited. Given these two options it is most often the igniter. Replacing the igniter is not difficult but it is a VERY delicate part and experience in handling it is benificial.

Convert Laars lite model lg125n to LP gas

That involves changing out the complete burner tray including the igniter/pilot assembly, burners and the gas valve. It runs deep into the cost of a new heater, (well over $1000, not installed).

I have a Laars Lite 2 400,000 btu pool heater. It

It could be that the Igniter has gone bad. Or it cold be a number of other items, like the gas valve itself. If the heater has a display panel on it, is there an error code showing? If there is, go to your Owner's Manual and find out what the code is for the heater.

If you do not have a manual, you can find one online at the following link:

Laars lite 2 Spark egnighter will not spark

turn power off first. I would disconnect igniter wire which will be a thick orange wire that comes off of ignition module if it is spark. once you have that the end will look like a spark plug wire take shield away from metal then hold orange wire in hand close but not touching metal turn power on and it will take a couple of minutes before it should start sparking. If you don't see a spark then it is most likely the ignition module. There should be a red light on ignition module that will blink to tell you what the failure is if is is a newer on. When you turn power on to laars light 2 the inducer motor should come on then a pressure switch should send 24volt to gas valve for pilot to lite. Can you smell gas at all when laars should be igniting. If you have any questions fell free to email me back
