Sink backs up with water when running faucet, dishwasher does not drain, all pipes under sink clear
The sink was getting backed up with water then i noticed the water coming out of the bottom of the dishwasher. I took all the pipe apart under sink and they are all clear, but when I run the water in the sink the sink gets backed up with water
We had this problem and found out that the pipe leading away from the house was clogged. Have a plumber look (with a camera) down your clean out, and see if that is the problem. They can snake it from the clean out and clear out tree roots or whatever is the problem.

Do you have a drain vent that goes up to your Counter/Sink next to your faucet? It's a called an Air Gap or dish washer drain vent. Sometimes those get clogged.
Also, make sure your drain hose does not get pinched when you move the dishwasher back into place. Hope that helps
Try throttling back (reducing the water flow) the valve that feeds the machine. With the sink tap/faucet running the pressure into the dishwasher is reduced. Is the feed pipe kinked or blocked in some way as there might be a sensor in the machine that doesn't like it when water is "jetted" in under pressure. It would act like putting your thumb over the end of a hose when washing a car.
Two things can cause this problem:
1. The check valve in your dishwasher may be defective, allowing water and food debris to seep (or run) back into your dishwasher.
2. Your drain hose may not be "mounted up" the way it should be. Look under your sink. Look at how your drain hose is connected to your garbage disposal. If the hose runs down to the floor of your cabinet and into your dishwasher, that is wrong. Instead, it should be mounted up so that water from the sink and garbage disposal would have to flow up first to get into the dishwasher. If you do this, then even if you have a bad check-valve in the dishwasher, it will prevent the problem (or greatly reduce the problem) of dirty water flowing back into your dishwasher.
This means your drain is backing up. You can try removing the J-trap under the sink and clearing it its the U shaped pipe. If this does not correct your problem you will need to call a plumbing co to have them out to snake it out. Hope this helps. MJ
it is normal for a little water to come out here. if it is excessive, you have to make sure the drain pipes under the sink are clean and clear. pull out the p-trap and clean it out completely.
also, at least 1 sink should be empty and unplugged to allow proper ventilation when the dishwasher drains. this is easier to try out than the p-trap.
the only other thing you can do is put an extension on the y-shaped pipe under the 'spitter'. this will allow the water to cross from 1 side of the 'y' to the other farther from your sink top. good luck
Your drain line is clogged, beyond the sinks. You might be able to use a plunger to clear it. Seal off one the drains and use the plunger in the other. After you get it cleared, run pure hot water for a few minutes to melt the junk out of the line. When using the disposer, use cold water only, NEVER hot. If this doesn't get your drain flowing, you will have to snake the drain--to the main drain.
Have had this problem twice on my DWI614. First time engineer came out and I watched what he did and asked questions. He removed panel at bottom of dishwasher (2 screws) after removing facia panel from kitchen as it is a built in dishwasher. To the right is the drain pump. Remove 1 retaining screw and hose retaining clip. Ease out the drain pump and make sure to have some cloth beneath as residual water will flush out. Before I did this the second time I removed as much water from inside with a small cup first. Both times I had blockages in the drain pump. First was a piece of glass and second some food. I also pulled the drain pipe forward and blew through to make sure path to sink was clear. Clear out and reassemble. Start a simple program before putting the front back panel back on and you can touch the drain opump and feel it working as the water drains properly. That was my fix both times, good luck.
