35505 power on problem

When pressing power switch the green LED blinks once, I can hear the TV try to turn on but nothing. Found blown fuse F501 125v, 2amp. Do you think replaceing the fuse will fix. Also any idea what that fuse in-line with?

Five red blinks in Sony LED TV KDL 40W900A.

5 red flashes is a bad panel connection or internal panel short, very carefully take the panel connectors off and reseat them and see if that helps, unfortunately you may have a bad panel.

TV turned off by itself today, It initially makes a clicking noise, the green power light flashes and goes out after 2-3s hear 2nd click and nothing happens. No red blink lights, nothing.

These blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Count it carefully. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. It has details about blinking codes, and fault locating procedure, to many popular brand TVs and other devices.

If blinks continue without any pause, the main board is faulty.

Why won't my TV power on?!

Other than the power supply, it could be a cold solder joint on one of the PCBs. Easy to fix, but almost impossible to find.

When you turn on power you hear a click and the green light turns on. Three seconds later you hear another click and the green light turns off.

MOST OF THESE SETS HAVE A SELF DIAGNOSTIC:

UNPLUG TV AND THEN PLUG BACK IN---TURN ON---GREEN POWER LIGHT COMES ONFOR A MOMENT AND GOES OFF.

PRESS AND HOLD "device"(input) and"menu" buttons on front of tv for at least 5 seconds and then release bothtogether.

Watch for power light to blink in a sequence:

1 blink-then 2 blinks-------no error

2 blink-then 1 blink-------X-ray protection

2 blink-then 2 blink-------SHORT PROTECTION*******

2 blink-then 3 blink---------deflection circuit problem

2 blink-then 4 blink---------vertical circuit problem

******2, then 2 is most common---usually means one of the fuses that protectthe Convergence IC or IC's is blown---set will detect no voltage to convergenceIC and shut down.

SET WILL REPEAT BLINK ERROR CODE UP TO 5 TIMES ANDTHEN TO GET IT TO REPEAT MORE YOUHAVE TO UNPLUG SET AND TRY TO TURN ON AGAIN.

IF IT IS 2 AND THEN 2---USUALLY
CONVERGENCE CIRCUIT PROBLEM

let me know what you find--hope that you find 2 blinks, a pause and twoblinks--this is the most common and easiest to fix.

Let me know what you find and I will assist you.

If blinks continue without any pause, the main board is faulty.
Search the site by type in the "brand name" to your device, in the "Search box at the top right of the display window of the Homepage" to get gathered related posts.
Counting of number of blinks to Philips TVs is entirely different to that of other brand TVs. It is not a direct count procedure. The site have details about how to count the number of LED blinks [Fault Codes] to Philips brand TVs are given; along with details of the faulty circuit location.

THE EXACT SAME, NO POWER NO GREEN LIGHT

I have a similar problem in that when I turn the switch on the back on, the green led at the front blinks once and then stays dead.
If I put my hand over the IR pod [block all light from it] and then turn the back switch on, the led blinks once and then goes into standby mode and from then I can turn it on normally with the remote etc.
Weird hey.

Power LED blinks red

it is a bad fan. it also could be a power supply. Quite often the real problem is dirt clogging up the fan(s) to the point that they need to be replaced. Operation of the set in a dirty environment is not a good idea

Philips Plasma NO LIFE

I had the same problem (with 42FD9954/17S) that when turned on the unit, the green LED turned off and came back to red again some time later. I kept turning it on and once it went to a clicking relay sound and blinking green LED with it. It did that for a while and stayed turned on. I noticed that it is temperature sensitive. Colder the room is more often does it. Used a hair dryer and blown hot air into the unit at the left bottom grills. It helped and started to tun on quicker. Later it has deteriorated so bad that I took it a part and after several ice spraying test showed that on the middle big board (power board) there was an electrolyte condenser went bad. It is the one one which is at the middle, bottom center of the board near the fixing screw. There are two of them (cylindrical objects). The left one was the culprit. However when I fixed it, it turns on immediately but goes blinking red after that. Phillips say it is a static discharge problem. I might blown something when soldering the parts. I don't know what. Any ideas?
