Question about Saniflo SaniPlus-Round SaniPlus Macerator Toilet with Round Bowl

Open Question

Sanipro XR motor won't turn off. Have to turn it off at the power point. Any ideas? Takes away through the pipe and kicks in when you flush but then keeps going. Thanks

The pump in the lift chamber has quit working. Check the power to it and if that's not the problem then you will have to get into where the pump is to see if the float is hung up. I know it's a nasty job but someone has to do it.

Water pressure makes the unit kick on and off. Somehow water is draining back into the pump casing, check the flapper on the check valve inside the discharge elbow, it may not be closing properly or may be obstructed allowing waste water to drain back into the pump. Also check the flapper on the flush valve inside the toilet tank (water closet) the flapper may be leaking water into the bowl and from the bowl into the pump casing sitting behind. As far as making a loud noise, there could be a blockage on the drain pipe, blade or impeller. The discharge pipe may be loose, not clamped against the wall and is rattling against the wall when in use.

SOURCE: sanipro xr pumps for 15 mins then wont start up

Definitely there is a problem with the pressure chamber, it may need to be replaced. The pressure chamber is were all the electrical components are sitted and is what turns the unit on and off. You can always order parts throught Saniflo's technical dept. 800-571-8191

You must remove the lid to gain access to the blades. Make sure you unplug the unit first. When reinstalling the lid place a little soap water around the gasket to help with the seal. thanks for using FIXYA. Jeff

Macerator works only for 5mins every 15mins. But won't work during the 15mins.

Well it is working in a stinky environment! Just think, without it you could be hand chopping all that "stuff" up!!!

Sounds like you have a sticky switch inside the macerator.

As this is a messy piece of plumbing, I'm going to recommed that you take it out of the system and take it outside in the yard, away from the house and give it a good hosing out. It is possible that some gunk has clogged up the pressure chambers vents and this is causing the float or whatever mechanism in there to be stuck on. Flush it as much as possible before you disconnect it.

My washing machine won't fill. It seems to be running straight out the pipe into grey water instead of filling for a cycle.

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,

I would gently suggest as a first step that you clean the drain motor/pump lint tray/filter- so many 'faults' are caused by blocked filters.
Following are my complete and hopefully 'coverall' pre-typed guidance notes for checking both the drain motor filter and the drain motor ;-0)
REMOVE POWER AND ENSURE YOU HAVE A WATER RECEPTACLE/RAGS TO SOAK UP THE WATER WHICH IS BOUND TO POUR OUT (alternatively use a wet vac as sensibly suggested by VinnyB1234!)
If you are unsure where the filter is, it is often behind the front lower (kick) panel (or in some machines at the rear in an awkward position!). These panels are either held on by (plasic) screws or will just pull off. Most filters are held in by a round cover/knob. Sometimes the filter will not come out with the cover and you will have to persuade it to come out to play.
It's surprising what people have found in theirs! It is always worthwhile checking it on a regular basis.
Now- whilst the filter is removed it is normally possible to see the drain motor and ensure it is not jammed by a foreign object such as a needle or a toothpick. It should be able to be turned by hand/finger- the power IS OFF!
At this point it is also possible to test if the motor works. No clothes or water in the machine, select a spin cycle and put the power back on. You should be able to see the motor turning at some point, possibly straight away. Using something suitable like a glove see if it is easy to briefly slow the motor down. If it is easy then the motor is malfunctioning.

If this has assisted you please consider a 4 thumbs up for the rating.
Thanks and good luck!

Hi, It wouldn't autofocus on the D5000 as the body doesn't have an auto focus motor in the body and since that lens is AF, not AF-S, it won't autofocus. It should autofocus on the D7000 though, how far away are you from the object you're trying to photograph?

I would gently suggest as a first step that you clean the drain motor lint tray/filter which is behind the 'panel' you refer to! So many 'faults' are caused by blocked filters and many machines will not even go to spin or release the door lock if there is any water still left inside.
