Hi, When the paper is fed through Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) is is scanned before copy or fax. The scanner is fixed type and is located just below the ADF. The
lines are due to dirty scanner mirror. The printer/ scanner design is
based Sheet-Fed Scanner. Open/Lift the Control Panel (scanner top )(by pulling it up from front - the area from where the paper to scan comes out). Look out for the horizontal
mirror and use a soft, damp, lint-free cloth to gently clean the
scanner mirror, rollers etc. and enjoy clear scanning and copying!
for any tron pieces of paper dirt etc.DONT USE PAPER, CHEMICALS OR ANY ABRASIVE
CLOTH as it may damage the parts. Also note that your machine can scan an image only 8.15 inches wide, regardless of how wide the paper is.
Hope it helps! Good Luck! Thanks for using Fixya! CreativeTECH
On the doc feeder there are 2 arms that go down into the machine. UNPLUG machine first. You squeeze them carefully and rock the doc feeder backward. It may take some manuevering,
Once you have separated the top half of doc feeder, you will see a wire harness going into the upper half, CAREFULLY unplug it. There are several screws holding down the cover over the bottom half, remove them and again carefully separate this cover from the main body.
Once this is done you should be able to replace the feed roller. One note, while you have it this far apart you ought to change the separaetor pad in the top half.
If this helps you, please log in a vote for me, thanx
If you sending the fax over the memory, fax can scann doc. while dialing, or in the same time, but if you sending directly (on-hook dial) fax is sending the document while beeing reeded.
You may try to check the phone lines, browse the documents before sending, clean the original document feed rollers,...
if fax sudenly stops and wrinkle the orig. documents there is problem in scanner area
Our problem is not solved. It was suggested the feeder needed cleaning or wasn't working. The feeder works as we make copies of documents. If one is scanning can you feed the document or can you only scan one page at a time by placing it on the window?
Sounds like it got set to "immediate" transmission somehow, rather than "memory" transmission -might be as simple as a button on the operation panel, but I'm not a "canon" guy. You can get the manual here if you don't have one:
