Question about Maxi-Cosi Baby Gear
They should remain in the Quinny chassis rather than coming off with the carseat.
Replace the carseat onto the chassis. Now release the carseat and lift up and the adaptors should remain in the chassis.
If they do not, this may indicate that they were put on the wrong way round or there is some other kind of issue. Contact your retailer to discuss.

SOURCE: fixing maxicosi seat to base
If you have a Cabrio Fix carseat, underneath the carseat should be two silver metal bars that slot into the base, if these are not on the carseat then you have the Cabrio model which is not compatible with the base.
I hope this helps.

We have just released the Bugaboo adapters by pressing buttons on the Maxi Cosi seat and gently pulling the adapters at the same time. These buttons can be found either side on the top of the seat, next to where the seat carry handles are attached. The adapters come away very easily, no force needed. (I dont know if this is true if the adapters are in the wrong way round!)

just need to work your way round it. it's fastened in places by loops on the cover and hooks on the seat plastic, all quite stable, just go easy and see where it's fixed and how.
big tip is you need the handle in an upright position. I just took mine off tonight and it took about 10-15 minutes but got there in the end.
The hardest part to figure was getting the central bottom strap through the cover - at first glance it appeared to be stuck.but if you have the seat facing you and just underneath at the front, the belt finishes, and at the end of the belt it is looped over two 'prongy' things in the seat so you just need to work that from side to side to slip it off, and you can then thread it through the hole in the seat cover.

SOURCE: hi, i have a maxi
I'm sorry to hear of this inconveniance. Try squirting some furnature polish around the adaptors and rubbing in with a clean cloth, then click it back into the Quinny chassis. Now try and remove the carseat again - the adaptors should remain in the Quinny chassis, not the carseat.
If you still have no luck you'll need to take the carseat back to your retailer with your proof of purchase to ask them to examine it and determine what the problem could be. If the adaptors are in the right way round and they are still unable to remove them from the carseat they may need to send the carseat back to our engineers for full inspection and solution. However if the adaptors have been put in the wrong way round there may be a charge for this.
