I dropped my x-10 palm pad remote in water

I've dropped a lot of phones and other devices in water! No feeling quite like it :(
Maybe people will advice against this, but I take the hose to my vacuum and (with the batter out) vacuum every inch of my devices. Another tip that has worked is to put the device into ziploc bag of white rice for a day or so. It'll absorb any water that is still locked inside.
Hope it works for you!

I have a Bose remote that I dropped several times and I want to know if that could be fixed. It is RC28T1

Yes it can be fixed if you have patience and know your way around soldering.
FIrst its tough to take apart. I got mine apart by wedging a screwdriver in and twisting until it popped apart. (nothing broke) I started at a bottom corner and worked my way up the side until it came loose
The problem is that the broadcasting antenna at the top of the remote is very a very thin wire wrapped around a heavy cylindrical magnet and its solder points are extremely weak. You most likely dropped it and it came loose. I re-soldered mine and it worked perfectly.... until it broke again. The leads are very small and hard to fix.
Chalk it up to poor design.

Blank Blue Screen, but buttons still work

I had the same problem and when I took the remote apart the ribbon connecting the lcd screen to the remote controller board was sheared. The remote was dropped and the impact caused two of the traces on the ribbon to tear.

When I push the power on it opens and makes two rounds of beeps and instantly shuts down and the lens retracts.

I had the same problem. I took the lens assembly out and took it apart and found a broken plastic tab that connects a very small spring for the focus lens. Apparently the lens tries to autofocus, but can't because the spring is not connected so it then shuts down. The spring is near the smallest motor in the lens assembly. I made a new connector for the one end of the spring out of a small wire and glued it in, then put everything back and it fixed it. This is like working on a watch, everything is very small, I mean tiny. You need much patience and a steady hand for this job.

Replace front brake pad 2003 toyota 4 runner

Diagram is unnecessry.
Pull both front wheels
Work one at a time leaving the other for reference
Find the retention spring ... its a paperclip thickness wire spring... dislodge center retention loop and undo from both ends which engage brake pad retention rods.
Pull the rods out
Pull the old pads out... laying everything on the ground
Use scrap wooden wedges to pry between the rotor and the caliper ...inside and out until the calipers are fully withdrawn. Use the new pads to measure if they are far enough back.
Note... the brake fluid will have dropped in the master cylinder over many months of wear... do not fill it. When the calipers are pushed back they will fill the reservoir again... one wheel at a time.
Be sure to identify the correct pad based on what you took out and what is on the other side (if you screwed up the layout)
Make sure to take the old antisqueek backing plate from the old pad and place it on the new pad. They don't use lubricant on these anymore.
Replace the pads... the retention rods... then the retention spring
Do the other side
Then progressively step on the brake peddle until full tension is felt
Check the master cylinder reservoir... probably needs no additional fluid.
New pads will register in existing ridges in each disc in no time at all.
You should check the discs to see if they need to be replaced during this operation...using some calipers

Dropped DS Lite - rattling

L2 inductor comes out sometimes when dropped and the DS keeps in fixed amber light when charger is plugged in. But you found it fast so good luck. Its pretty sure your DS will work again after soldering the L2 again in its place near the power switch. Just get the battery and charger out before doing anything to avoid a blown fuse also.
