Picture too wide from xbox360 into sony trinitron KV2185
Hi, my son bought a second hand TV as above, the picture is good, but when he tries to use his Xbox360 with it (his main use), he is missing text and stuff from left and right edges. We have tried all the controls on fron panel, and some don't seem to do much. Theres a button called 'PC' which comes up with 'dynamic' 'soft' and 'medium" which don't seem to do much.
Do we need to alter width on TV, and if so , any ideas how?
Have searched for handbooks all over net, but come up blank.

Re: Picture too wide from xbox360 into sony trinitron...
If you have remote controls for the tv, you need to go to the setup and change the settings to wide screen 16:9 for the viewing. It seems that that the tv is not in widescreen mode. what is the make and model of the tv? If you can find this, I will try to find a manual for you if you have no controls

I've just recently connected my old 32" Sony KV-32HS510 to my HP G60 Laptop via an HDMI (laptop) to DVI HDTV port(TV) with a cable.
I'm running Windows Vista on my laptop with the nVidia software. Once I've plugged in the TV to the HDMI port, the software initializes (recognizes the TV) and then I can select it as my second 'monitor' in the nVidia control panel.
I found I had to tinker with the resolution settings in the nVidia program to find an optimal resolution where the sides of the screen weren't 'cut off' by the TV.. I finally ended up with the resolution 1152x768 (I believe). It might be different for everybody, as I'm told Vista might do things differently than XP... But you should be able to tinker with the resolution settings and adjust the screen size...
Hi, IK circuit is engaging which basically means the picture tube is getting tired, the only "fix" is temporary (may get another year out of it). You have to increase the "screen control clockwise".
Remove back of set, follow large black or red wire attatched to picture tube down to the flyback transformer, mounted on flyback are two black controls, one is focus (leave it alone) the other is "screen", adjust it clockwise approx. 1/4 inch, remember that this is a high voltage circuit so use one hand in the set the other hand out of the set at all times, any questions ? e-mail me back, good luck, BMW Rider
If this only happens with your cable or satellite box this may be an adjustment in your box. So you may need to contact them and find out how to adjust the picture size. This tv may have a wide mode setting on the tv remote. Pushing this button may select full, wide, wide zoom or normal size. On many occasions the tv stations control the picture size. Good Luck
