For whatever reason, the lens has failed. This can be caused by many things: the lens motor has failed or is stuck, the gears involved in driving the lens have jammed, or, as pointed out previously, the lens itself, a series of tubes which fit into one another has become stuck. You can try GENTLY pressing down on the lens when you first power the camera to see if you can free up the stuck lens. If that doesn't work, I'm afraid you are going to have to get the camera serviced.

The clicking sound you're hearing is the lens trying to move itself. Unfortunately, it's probably not going to be fixed by pushing on the lens. You are going to have to get the camera serviced. Sorry!

Dear

Focus err comes when Zooming Lens not working properly try to do this.

1-First of all, seems to happen more frequently when the batteries are low. So if they're low the first thing would be to try replacing them.

2-even after replacing the batteries it contiued to give the "Focus Error" message. So I turned it off and held ur finger on the rim of the lens to help push it in as it was returning into the camera shell. Next time I turned it on it worked again. Almost seemed like until I did that, the zoom lens was not seated properly.

If Problem persiste please contact service centre..
Hope this helps.

The main reason this happens is when there is dirt on the lens, or a smudge. This can confuse the focus meter causing an error because it is trying to focus on the error on the lens. This is easily solved by gently cleaning the lens with a non abrasive cloth.

If thats not it, their really isnt any setting that you can change to fix it. Just give it a few whacks and it should work.
Thanks

You may think whacking is nit a solution but if you try it on a soft surface and give some force slowly on the lens and then turn off and turn on the camera it should resolve.

However if the camera is still under warranty or you are afraid of damaging some parts I would advise you to contact some local Camera store. Go to yellowages to find a store near you.

    Thanks

    1. Turn off your camera.
    2. If you have a memory card in your camera, remove it.
    3. Remove the batteries from your camera and wipe the contacts with a soft, clean cloth.
    4. Reinstall the batteries.
    5. Turn on your camera.

If my above steps didnt resolve your issue then the problem with your product appears to be something you cannot fix yourself. We recommend that you send your product to an authorized Fuji repair center for evaluation.

    Thanks once again.

There are three likely causes for horizontal lines on your plasma TV.

    1) A bad incoming signal. Do you see the lines on every channel, and from every source? If you play a DVD or videotape and the lines are still there, then that rules out your cable television or satellite box if you have one. However, if you find that the lines disappear when you play a DVD, I would contact the support desk for your cable or satellite provider.

    2) A burn-in. This is caused by things like excessive use of video games or watching TV programs that have static (unchanging elements) like icons or scores or even lines. Have you tried using the built-in burn-in cleanup utility that is part of most Samsung plasma sets? Even if you suspect that the problem is not caused by burn-in i would recommend you try this just to see if it has an effect.

    3) A problem with the electronics. Here you have to asnwer the following: is your set still under warranty? Most plasmas come with a one- or two-year warranty. If you paid for the set with certain types of credit cards, your warranty may be extended by a year or so: call your credit card.

If the set is still under warranty, immediately arrange for a repair and keep a record of all dates, names, phone numbers, and promises made. Don't accept any statement that five horizontal lines is "acceptable" to the maker; a pixel here or there may be excused but not a serious problem like yours.

Finally, if your set is NOT under warranty, consider carefully whether to make a repair or buy a new set. New set prices have dropped sharply, and the difference between a repair and a new set may not be significant. Of course, you can wait until the set fails.

    Good luck.

the focus error is especially an error message on Fujifilm FinePix digital cameras,
usually caused by dirt in the lens mechanism. To avoid any further
damage, the camera electronics totally disables the autofocus system
and refuses to take any still image. If out of warranty, the repair
costs can easily exceed US $100. However, other brands suffer from
similar faults, like the Canon E18 error or the Nikon Coolpix SYSTEM ERROR, and some users manage to bring their devices back to life by disassembling and cleaning the lens.

if the batteries are very much old replace it with new.sometimes because the batteries are not supporting this problem occurs.

    thanks.

  • ready2helpu Oct 25, 2008

it also shows if their is any dust or blockage on the lens area.

try to clean the lens gently with a tissue paper.

  • ready2helpu Oct 25, 2008

OFF the camera.and then try to move that with your hand manually .do it 3-4 times and then ON THE DEVICE AND THEN CHECK.IS IT WORKING.

sometimes tapping on the sides of the camera slowly and gently for a minute helps to resolve the problem.

  • ready2helpu Oct 25, 2008

if its new you can just take it to the dealer of this camera from where you have bought this as they will not charge you for this as it is under warranty.

but take care if its banged somewhere or fell down from your hand by mistake then its a physical damage and then you can try it doing your self.as the warranty will not be applied in physical damage case.

    thanks.

  • ready2helpu Oct 25, 2008

OFF the unit and try to make the flap up/down manuaLLY and then ON and see.

Getting an zoom error on my fuji film finepix z90, what can i do?

Lens errors (zoom errors on Fuji's) are fairly common. Usually it's sand or grit interfering with the lens extension mechanism. Or the camera's been dropped with the lens extended. Or the camera has been powered on, but the lens had been blocked preventing its extension. Or the battery ran down with the lens extended ... Unfortunately, many cameras that fall prey to lens error problems can only be corrected by professional repair. But, here are some last resort troubleshooting steps that you can try that may correct it. They only seem to work for less than 40% of the lens errors, but if the camera is out of warranty (or repair cost approaches that of the camera), they're worth that try.

Hi,
This problem is related to the malfunctioning of zoom motor, Two possibilities are there,
1- If company provides technical help on component leve in your regionl then zoom motor may replace.
2- If component level support is not available then LENS ASSEMBLY must be replaced.
Contact your nearest fuji service centre or contact any expert nearby for the specific part replacement.
    Thanks for using fixya.

Fuji finepix f50 camera was dropped with lense out, and now wont return. it also says focus error on screen. I have the same problem and Fuji want £88.00 to repair it - you can buy a new camera for...

Unfortunately dropping this model, and the f40, 45, 47 fd models, is suicidal for the camera. The lens has an inner slide ring which other models do not have and this ring has three lugs to keep the lens from spinning when powered up and used. Unfortunately these lugs are also clips which hold the focus lens inplace. These are tiny. hard to repair

FOCUS ERROR

I also had this problem. When starting the focus error alert came. Trying to move the focus button also triggered this. When I turned it off, the lens did not pull back. After being close to trowing it away, I used a little bit more force than before and turned the lens manually. I heard a click, and than it worked again. PS: Follow this tip on your own risk.....
