Question about Apple iPod touch
I connect my iPod to my computer and neither iTunes nor my computer recognizes my iPod. My iPod will start to charge but the battery meter varies greatly. Both my computer and iTunes recognize my wife's 30gb video and her sister’s 2gb nano when connected. Can you please help me? It doesn't show in Itunes nor My Computer. Does show in the device manager in the usb controllers and in the services.
I think what needs to happen is you need to restore.
Hold down the sleep and home buttons until you see the apple logo. As soon as that comes up, let go of the sleep button, but keep the home button held down.
A little picture saying you need to plug your iPod in iTunes should appear after a couple seconds. Let go of home and plug your iPod into the computer now.
When iTunes says you need to restore, do so. It will take some time to restore the iPod after you have given iTunes the command to do so.
Get a snack, and a drink... You might be here for a little while.

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
