First, check to make sure the input selection switch isn't stuck, after unplugging the monitor power cable. It sometimes can get stuck, or just become damaged.
If this isn't it, maybe it's time for a new monitor.

SOURCE: Gateway FPD2275W LCD monitor lost "Red" signal of RGB display

Not really, first check your connections, normally when you loose red a pin broke off the VGA connector.

If the panel died then its probably not worth while. The red panel is however, under the most stress.

Monitor starts then goes off, no signal

I would check the LCD against another monitor. It does not have to be a LCD, a regular monitor will do.
This will tell you 2 things, 1. The Video card is good or bad, 2. The Cable is sendinf a good signal.
If when you startup the monitor, you see a display and then after a few seconds it display's a no signal message, this is consistant with a Bad cable or cable ends. or Bad VGA card from computer.
Hope this helps. Good luck..
P.S. If you have move the PC, you may want to open the unit, and re-seat the Card. If the card is not making a solid connect on the board, it will display these syptoms.

"No Input" followed by R G B with their respective colors message

Your monitor is set to the RGB input which is the 3 cable connection that alot of older HDTV's use. There should be a button on the monitor to switch inputs so if you are using a DVI connection make sure it is set to DVI input; same if you are using VGA. Once the proper input is set your monitor screen should come on. Hope this helps.

Neichi could this monitor be set to receive dvi signals and not rgb even if he has the rgb hooked into the monitor? so in menu select rgb input?

Mitch, monitors don't conflict with windows generally usually they(windows os) will install a basic generic driver to run the monitor, and you should do this when changing monitors before you hook up the new one, your description really lacks any concrete description where are the "black and blue errors" what do they look like last I have had problems with modems interfering with video so I would remove the modem and see if the problem goes away.

If you are getting a "No Signal" message, someone may have inadvertantly pressed the wrong button on the monitor. Use up arrow of button #5 below to cycle through RGB (normal VGA connection) and DVI sources. Down arrow will result in "No Signal" message.

There are five buttons at the bottom of the screen on this monitor. From the left:
1 - sound volume
2 - degausser
3 - power on/off
4 - monitor set-up
5 - RGB/DVI source
