So whats your main question :S ?

  • Rich G Feb 14, 2012

Is this a common problem? What causes this to happen? Is there a fix that will allow me to play games without having this problem? Though this computer is a couple years old it is designed for gaming and shouldn't be having these sorts of issues.

How to turn off safe search

Safe Search is a bad piece of malware that is part of the SafeSearch toolbar. You or someone who used your computer allowed this toolbar to be installed, possibly without realising it.
You may be able to boot up your computer in Safe Mode. Tap the F8 key repeatedly when you turn the power on. After booting into Safe mode do a search for "windows defender". If Windows Defender is there, try running it to remove SafeSearch. Also, there are 2 good malware cleaners that will remove SafeSearch and the toolbar along with it. The cleaners are AdWCleaner and Malwarebytes. Both are free. You can download either one or both from www. majorgeeks.com (Majorgeeks.com) . Try starting your computer in "Safe Mode with networking". On most computers (except Windows 8) repeatedly press the F8 key on your keyboard right after you turn on the power and before Windows starts to boot up. When in "Safe mode with networking" you can download and install the cleaner. Or, you can download the cleaner on another computer and save it onto a USB flashdrive and plug in the flashfrive to your computer and run the cleaner install from there. Or, go online in Safe mode and go to Housecall.com.

System Recovery

Hit the Power Button and immediately start hitting the F8 key repeatedly until you see the Safe Mode Options. Select Safe Mode and see if it will boot up. If it does shut down normally and reboot.

Try safe mode again, and this time when it comes up click Start/Accessories/System Tools/System Restore. (If you have windows 7 click Start then type System Restore in the search box and select it when the results are returned). Select a Restore Point (date and time) before you started having problems. Don't worry, System Restore does not delete your data, documents, music, pictures videos or programs (unless the program was installed after the restore point you selected).

System Recovery on the other hand deletes everything and sets your system back to when you first purchased it.

If it happens again on the reboot, get back into safe mode again and see if you can force it to run the check disk utility the next time it starts up. In Safe Mode click Start/Accessories and look for the RUN command. Type cmd and press ok. It will bring up a dos prompt (black screen with white lettering). Type chkdsk /r and press enter. If it says something about drive is locked and it will do it on the next reboot, then select yes.

Read the Manual for System Recovery.

Get online and got to www.google.com In the google search box type: "ASUS Support" (without the quotes and put your manufacturer name before Support). Look for downloads and drivers. Enter your model number and operating system when requested. Look for Manuals and search them for System Recovery.

How do i turn off safe mode on a samsung galaxy ace

Safe mode in Galaxy Ace s5830
To START "Safe Mode" use both hands to Press the Home Key (bottom centre) and then simultaneously Press BOTH the Power (right hand side) key, and the Volume-Up (left-hand side) key. When the Samsung Galaxy logo appears, release the sides' Power and Volume-Up keys but keep the Home key pressed. Safe Mode should come on shortly. SIMPLY DOING THIS SAME KEYING SEQUENCE, WHILE THE PHONE SHOWS "SAFE MODE" IN THE BOTTOM LEFT CORNER OF THE SCREEN, SEEMS TO TURN THAT "SAFE MODE" OFF. Safe Mode prevents Third Party Apps running, apparently.
