Re: need router number
First, see if you can access the diagnostics on your wireless router as the administrator, so you can change things if you want. Usually, this is done through a wired connected computer to the router. Most routers have the IP address access of 192.168.0.1 to get in there. From that point, you want to look for the wireless (WAN) settings for the router, and you may either specify the IP, or make it auto-connect. Either way, make sure you have some sort of wireless encryption security, with a secure password you set-up. On your printer, you will probably have to specify the router IP, and make sure it auto-connects IP on the printer (unless you prefer to specify it). You'll also need the encryption password to establish the initial connection. Some newer printers and routers have a button that can be pressed to make connecting them easier. However, you may still want to make sure you have good encryption on your wireless router. Many people make this common mistake, and end up losing a lot of valuable information and unknowingly give out their account numbers, passwords, etc. Move cautiously with wireless connections, and always make them secure.

To setup a network just follow the step by step guide that came with the DIR-615 router. When it comes to setting up the internet on the router wizard just select Cable or DHCP and leave the other internet settings as default.
As regards to your printer we need to know the make and model number so we could further assist you. By knowing the make and model of the printer it will help us how to best setup your printer on the network. The model number is usually the name of the printer or near barcodes on the back or bottom of the printer.
An SSID is the name of your wireless network connection and doesn't have to be a number. As I don't believe that this modem supports wireless connectivity, it should not prompt you for an SSID or a password. If the modem is plugged into a wireless router however, and a wireless network has been set up, the SSID will be related to the wireless router.
Generally most devices can scan for the SSID when attempting to connect to a wireless connection. If there is an "automatic" setting or a "find networks" button, you can try that and choose your wireless connection from the list provided. For a password, you may need to ask whomever helped set up your wireless network.
Setting up wireless printers can be such a hassle!
The quickest solution is to let the router sync the mac address itself, don't worry about the details of it all. Easiest way is to start wired, before you go wireless.
When setting up the printer to work with that wireless router, hook your printer up directly to the router/computer the router is connected to. This will allow for the printer/router to recognize each other and establish a connection. Then, when you use a wireless connection (wireless on laptop/ on printer also), they will recognize each other and you'll be able to connect.
This is much less of a hassle than trying to set up wirelessly.
Best of luck!
