Hi, this machine is new, I fax 1 sheet and receiver gets my 1 sheet of paper plus three additional blank sheets. It happens to everyone I send something to. This mach. is used for personal use, I am deaf and it is great to send quick notes to all my friends but they are all complaining to me that this only happens to them when "I" send a fax. ANY suggestions would be helpful!!

Look at the hopper. It will almost certainly have a little graphic on it to tell you which way up the document goes.
If it looks like a sheet of paper with lines of writing on, the paper goes in print side up.
If it looks like a sheet of paper with one corner folded over, and lines of writing visible only on the turned over corner, then it goes in print side down.
If you can't find the graphic, then experiment: Take a blank sheet of paper. Write "Up" on one side and "Down" on the other then stick it into the machine so the writing is telling the truth. Most fax machines have a copy mode - use this to see which side of the paper the machine reads (if you can't get it to copy, fax your page to somebody and get them to phone back to tell you which side of the page they've received).
Your fax machine probably has what is known as a "separation pad". This is a part near the rubber roller thst starts the blank paper on its way through the machine. It is supposed to let only one sheet through at a time but when it's surface wears, it doesn't function properly. A service technician is needed to replace the part.
It will be a problem with the other ends fax when it sends its stretches out the fax too much and it transmits accross two pages. The other fax is telling your machine to print out accross two pages in the transmission. Older faxes are the worst for it.
