Re: panasonic pt51hx

Sounds like the old convergence problem that plaques almost every tube type rear projection TVs. These IC's are soldered into place and is not a consumer replaceable part. It should run you about 250 to 350 for a convergence repair. Good Luck

How can I get full screen image without distortion on tv viewing? I only get 4:3, zoom, full and justified. Full looks stretched horizontally with tv, looks ok with dvd.

Most of the telivision transmissions are comes at an aspect ratio of 4:3. Wide aspect ratio is 16:9. If you try to see a picture with aspect ratio 4:3 to wide 16:9, it will look like stretched. it is not the fault of the tv. Most DVD recording have the aspect ratio of 16:9 [Wide]. This aspect ratio will be displayed correctly when your tv is also set to wide mode. If you select normal mode at this condition, the picture will be displayed elongated. Ok Your Tv has no probelm.

Fuzzy picture, color and volume comes and goes

the main chip in the TV that controls all these options (sound - sharpness etc...) you will need to bring this TV into a repair shop - the transformer that blew up caused a voltage surge that fried this chip

DVD player won't work on my 27gt615

good day, if youre saying that you program the DVD to work on channel 2 or 4 does it mean you convert the signal of your dvd player from A/V output to RF out?

because the simpliest way to connect your DVD player to TV screen is by using RCA cable ( 3 wired cable being color marked as yellow/red/white) yellow = video red and white = audio

the connection would be: from dvd back part you'll see colored socket yello/red and white. connect the RCA to those socket following the same color .

and from the TV screen there should be A/V input socket. can be locate at the BACK/Side or FRONT of the screen marked as
"INPUT" ( AV1, AV2,AV3 if multiple inputs). Then select which input you want to place your DVD player ex.AV1 (from AV1 there will be 3 scoket in a row, yellow/red/white)

Connect the other end of your RCA cable following the same color code to TV "AV1 INPUT" yellow = yello/red =red/white=white. then from the remote commander of your TV screen locate a button marked as "TV/AV" or "A/V" press this button until the screen display switch to AV1.

Panasonic TV: TX-28DTX10,VCR nv-HV60 EB, DVD:SC-HT 520

EC means euro connector, I.E. Scart socket. For some reason there is no video signal coming out of the scart cable/out of the VCR or being displayed on the TV. Try plugging the scart plug into a different scart socket and see if that helps.

Dark picture and shadows

Sounds like you've entered the "service mode" where you're seeing the chroma (color) signal only. What type of connectors are the F and S? RCA? F? This set is no longer made which makes it hard to research. By any chance, is there a small switch on the back that says "normal - service"?

Fuzzy signal

Right, but the problem is more likely the tuner unit-which the coaxial is hooked up to. If it was strictly the coax, when you wiggled the cable around, the image would probably come back fine. Youll have to get a tuner and solder out the old one, the solder in the new one. The tuner for your model is part QAU0305-001 found here: Be aware that the problem could be as simple as a diode or cap...until it can be tested we don't know for sure. techman would probably know more about this model than I would.
