Question about Canon MX300 Office All-In-One Printer
No paper jammed but it shows alarm.
Forcing a piece of cardstock as far into the feed as I could, then removing it fixed this problem for me.
Hopefully it will work for you!

This may not help, just humor... I fixed it... my 2 year old stuck a GoGurt wrapper inside of the printing tray... Apparently, It's now his trash can!

SOURCE: Canon MX300 Paper Jam
I have the same problem - every time I turn on my printer now, the alarm signal shows up with "Paper jam" but when I check for jammed paper, there is none. So I think there's something faulty with the printer. Is there any way to reset it? I've looked everywhere but can't find it.

give this a try
Load a piece of thick paper, for example photo paper and press the resume button (may be diffrent button on diffrent models) a few times to the printer picks up the paper and puts it through the machine.
