Message tone and volume works together,so if you have your ring tone volume at the loudest level, the alert tone for messages will be at the loudest as well. If you want to adjust the volume follow these steps: go to settings --> personal --> profiles --> choose any profile that you want to be activated on your phone --> options --> personalized --> ringing volume --> choose from volume 1 to 5 as the loudest --> press ok then click back once --> options --> activate
While you're in the call, use the volume buttons on the right hand side of the Tour to turn up the volume.
If you still can't hear, you might want to try using the speakerphone -- it's louder. The speakerphone button is the same as the dollar sign ($) button, just press it during a call to activate the speakerphone.
If the volume button makes your outgoing call sound better, but then the next time you make a call the volume drops again, go into the phone's sound settings (Home folder > Options folder > Phone Options > General Options) and under Default Call Volume, change it to a higher number, or to Previous.
it may sound stupid, but i had that happen too. I had use the side volume controls to raise the media volume, depending on when you press the volume button it will adjust the ring volume or media volume. Press the button while the msg is playing.
well there either should be a switch on the outside of the phone or on the answering machine part, but also, if there is a + and - button on the actually phone part to turn the ear piece up, when you are not on the phone, hit the + button and you should hear the ringer, hit it until its the loudest.
This might be a defective unit. try installing the latest OS for the Storm. I notice the volume is much better when it has a sound board behind it to push the sound back to you. If you rest the phone up agains a wall, even your hand. Something to bring the sound back to you. the speaker is in the back of the phone which is part of the problem.
Its too bad they dont have a speaker on the top and bottom, to get stereo sound.
