Musicman1429 could you send me the pics of the repair. my email is dkimbro@hotmail.com I am in the process of repairing a viziol30 lcd television. I believe that the mov is going out and anything that could be helpful is appreciated. Thank you.

Protron PLTV 4250- wont turn on-
Had the same problem with one here- The 110v end of the power supply board was found damaged, The following items may need to be replaced:
Fuse F1 (soldered in) . 6.5a @250v time delay
Mouser 576- 021506.3HXP – note this style is for a fuse holder instead of solder in- I added a fuse holder on the board
RT4 & RT5 inrush surge suppressors - I used shintron 8d-18 power suppressing thermistors
BD1 bridge rectifier - Mouser 627-D15 XB 60H Shindengen

If you want a little more protection modify the board as follows:

1.replace only RT5 in its original location & move RT4 into the other ac input line in front of the bridge rectifier. (cut trace & drill solder holes)

2. Add: MOV (metal oxide varistor) across ac inputs of bridge rectifier.

This arrangment is copied from a samsung power supply.

Be careful when plugging in the I/O box on the outside cover, if any pins are inadvertantly bend loss of picture will result.

Get a power extension cord and take the TV plug to the power extension cord and relocate to another room and find another outlet.Plug it in and see if it works.If it doesn't,i hope you have warranty:(
